Cardiff 0 - 1 Wolves: The Verdict

Nuno is pure class, as are our players don't care about anything else - we won lets enjoy .....''we are Wolves we're on our way back'' .... :)

I don't have a problem. I was following up this comment:

While Jota and Leo were piss poor first half Benik killed the shape, Doherty offered nothing up the right hand side because he was missing the space offered by a natural wide player. Benik ran and ran and did offer himself for the ball but overall the shape and dynamics really suffered. I'd already explained this in a previous post, it just gets a little tedious when throwaway one liners get thrown out without any reasoned argument behind them.

What was killing our shape was Colin’s 6 at the back with 2 in front. Coupled with us giving the ball away every time we had it. Therefore we couldn’t evert any dominance, system or shape on the game.

Warnock is what he is - didn't expect much else from him tonight having lost

Not worth fussing about - move on to the Derby game, 3 points and we are there

Right, I've just about calmed down enough to give some observations.

- Ruddy was magnificent, right the way through. For all the stick he has got, to turn in that performance was tremendous. And the penalty save is genuine class.

- That back three. Wow. I don't think I've ever been so wrong about a player as I was about Ryan Bennett. What a warrior. Such a shame for Coads to give away the pen because he was truly brilliant before that.

- Neves was UltraNeves, bar 20 minutes first half where we didn't get him on the ball. Sometimes I think he can't get any better and then he just goes and does it.

- The starting front three didn't work. I understand why he did it, fair play but we won't do that again.

- Leo was so unlucky with his shot off the post. Shame that was pretty much all he contributed. Think he is coming to the end here.

- Helder HAS to bury that chance man! Done all the hard work. And then there's no stress.

- I have never, ever, ever, ever seen an end to a game like that. In 30 years of watching football.

- Blackwell is a cunt.

- Warnock is an even bigger cunt. Don't anyone dare ever defend that fucking prick ever again.

- We're champions.

Considered opinion when I've calmed down. For now my considered opinion is that Neves is God and Warnock is a despicable cunt

I'm sure Colin will find a way to calm himself down tonight...

Sums it up pretty well! Thought Boly was particularly excellent.

I was going to look for some Cardiff opinions to post but I can't find a single Cardiff forum worth its IP.

Oh my fucking word. WOW. My heart rate still hasn't gone back to normal.

And for the record I think Norris would have saved both those penalties not just one. Get him in.

Fulham have got to win both games to stop us having the chance to be promoted on Wednesday. Amazing.

Would have made Coady MoTM before the shove - as it was saved thanks to Ruddy (& that was a quality save) then probably would still have given it to him

So many times he cleaned the ball out & pushed us forward again

Just thoroughly embarrassed myself in public cheering those two penalty misses. Unreal.
Me to. The rest of the pub wondered what the fuck was going on.

I cried tears of exhaustion at the end. I may need to go to hospital as well as My hip cracked celebrating the Ruddy save. Well worth 5 hours at New Cross.

To be fair every journo and ex pro is slaughtering Colin on social media currently, even Danny Gabbidon looked embarrassed by his post match comments.
I actually think he’ll wake up in the morning and feel stupid and know he comes across as a bad loser.

:ursofunny: You could keep a shark alive with Colin's salt.

They'll have their game in hand back tomorrow, it levels up when they play the rearranged game with Derby.

Thought that was very similar to the Middlesborough game in some respects, teams started off fairly even with neither laying a particularly telling blow until the opening goal. Wolves looked reasonably comfortable after that though they should really have created some breathing space with a couple of really good chances on the break. N'Diaye was a bit hit and miss, some weak clearances presented half chances to Cardiff around the edge of the box but couple of good bursts forward on the break too. Then to complete the Middlesborough tribute we had a mini implosion in injury time with two really poor penalties to concede, good save from Ruddy on the first despite it not being that firmly struck and luckily they bottled the second at the death.

Wolves probably deserved it on the balance of the second half but still got some good fortune to hold on after spurning some good chances to extend the lead.

We? You've let your guard slip Mark.
