Cardiff 0 - 1 Wolves: The Verdict

Refereeing was solid throughout, IMO. Both of those were penalties - in the end a draw would absolutely have been fair, but god, does it feel good to win that.

We’ve as good as won the title today.

We did a really good job at defending until injury time when they lumped everyone in the box and got exactly what they wanted, Coady shouldn't have put his hands up and Cav was an idiot but I'm so fucking happy that they missed them. Imagine having to support a team where you cheer a throw in and actively work on winning free kicks as it's your best chance of a goal

These Friday night games are pretty $#@!ing intense! We should have killed it off with Costa's chance really but that's the best three points I think I'll ever witness.

The difference Costa and Cav made in the second half was immense, I really hope you could see the difference Alan.

That is the title fuckers! Oh my god what a finish. This is keogh at derby times ten.

Ruddy paid for the Norwich goal tonight, awesome save on the first penalty.

That’s unfair - there’s more to them than that.

Was Colin pissed about everyone running on the pitch at full time?

Their lead on Fulham is only five points and they don't have a game in hand anymore. Fulham could very reasonably catch them now.
They'll have their game in hand back tomorrow, it levels up when they play the rearranged game with Derby.

Thought that was very similar to the Middlesborough game in some respects, teams started off fairly even with neither laying a particularly telling blow until the opening goal. Wolves looked reasonably comfortable after that though they should really have created some breathing space with a couple of really good chances on the break. N'Diaye was a bit hit and miss, some weak clearances presented half chances to Cardiff around the edge of the box but couple of good bursts forward on the break too. Then to complete the Middlesborough tribute we had a mini implosion in injury time with two really poor penalties to concede, good save from Ruddy on the first despite it not being that firmly struck and luckily they bottled the second at the death.

Wolves probably deserved it on the balance of the second half but still got some good fortune to hold on after spurning some good chances to extend the lead.

Just noticed Cav slipped when he made that challenge, he wasn't trying to be quite so gung ho as it ended up

We deserved it as we defended well and their penalties were poor.

Good call about the game in hand, though, I forgot it was a Friday (and therefore more games tomorrow).

Fair play if that's your non-answer but if you're going to state that you couldn't see how Benik was detrimental to the shape in the first half then not back up the argument it's probably best not to make throwaway comments that are miles wide of the mark.

I didn't see any of that tonight tbh, lump it forward to Zohore and look for a knock down or a free kick.

You can’t be second in the league for months on end without having something about you. But tonight they didn’t look to keep the ball out of the air much at all. Tedious stuff

Don't know what your problem with me is lately, Booz. I wasn't the only one saying Benik was the best of our front three first half so there's no reason to call me out specifically.

We definitely improved second half once Costa came on but for my money that's just as much to do with Leo getting off the pitch as it was Benik moving centrally.

Benik playing wide was far from our biggest problem in the first half.

Just thoroughly embarrassed myself in public cheering those two penalty misses. Unreal.
