Good first 30 mins or so minutes then seemed to just relax a bit too much. Should have scored more but also looked like we might concede at any time they got into our box as well.

Ultimately the result is all that matters in these games but we should have won more comfortably and been under less pressure.

Joao Gomes, Rodrigo and Guedes the standouts today. Guedes gets my MOTM as he was involved in pretty much all our good attacking play.

Thought it was comfortable but unspectacular. First half there seemed to be a decent gap in quality, not so much in the second half. Doesn't help that with Hwang on the pitch you're essentially playing with 10 men. Probably should have been more comfortable if he'd put either of his chances away or one of the shots that came off the post went in. Don't think Johnstone had a save to make apart from the free kick, despite the commentators desperation for them to score the only other close call I can remember is the RAN header off our bar.

Made harder work of it than we should have. Enough chances to have absolutely buried them inside half an hour but we let them back in with some awful stuff from Hwang and Johnstone, then wasted more opportunities in the second half.

The midfield two were excellent, as was R Gomes. Guedes with his familiar mix of good stuff and then some touches and shots you wouldn't have down PowerLeague. Agbadou did fine against very limited threat, as did Doherty. Hwang was abysmal and shouldn't be getting near starting XIs.

We're through and it seems everyone was unscathed, so that's what we all wanted to come out of the tie.

A note on Bristol City - if they're mid-table in the Championship and that was pretty much a first choice XI for them, that's an awful indictment on the league. Absolutely dreadful team.

First half there was a clear difference between the two sides. Then we give them a stupid free kick and they score to make it a different game. Second half looked like two struggling Championship teams. A game that should convince our new coach to sell off the likes of Hwang, Bellegarde and Sarabia. I'd keep Guedes for now but sell in the Summer.

Easily went 2-0 up and we're the better team overall, plenty of chances to score more, and they only scored with a decent free kick. Other than that what did Bristol create? They hit the bar from another set-piece and that was it.

One goal leads always feels nervy in real time but it was comfortable in the end and the highlights will show that too.

We could have scored 6. RAN, Guedes and Hwang all missed sitters. We hit the post twice as well. Johnstone didn’t have a save to make. If we didn’t give away a stupid FK it would have been comfortable. Even without us being at our best second half we still created enough for it to have been comfortable. Leave a one goal margin against anyone and you give it the opportunity to be “nervy” in the last 10 mins when they chuck the kitchen sink

I felt Andre was a little off it first half, by his own v high standards, understandable given the circumstances. Much more involved in the second half I felt…..good to have him back anyway.

Missed the second half as had to take the little one to gymnastics. Surprised to see J. Gomes, Andre & JSL play the full 90?

On the free kick; Twine moved the ball back a foot or two which probably helped him get it up and down over the wall a bit. Naughty boy.
Andre was my M.O.M.

Regardless, he's done nothing more than float it over the wall at no great pace. Johnstone is too far over to the right to start with then gets nowhere near it. Big stiff idiot.

Fair comment. Not making excuses for Johnstone by any means.
Still got to get it up and down and on target though.
We need to sign a decent keeper and bin Sa and Johnstone. Amongst others.

Given the team he picked we had to win and did. Looked a class above for most of the first half, sloppy thereafter although it was only paranoia that would make you think we'd concede a second. Personally I'd like to have seen more rotation in the starting line up and during the game, but at this stage happy to say the manager knows best.

I said beforehand I wouldn't have played Agbadou, but he looked like be needed the game, so the correct decision. I'm not sure playing on the left helps him, hopefully a left sided centre half comes in quickly or worse case Toti is back soon.

Hwang is what he us, he does try, so not sure what cheering him off is going to achieve, but then I didn't leave the house at 8 this morning in the freezing cold to drive to Bristol. Why he's at Wolves, why his contract got extended and why we rejected £20m deserves derision at our glorious leader though

Gave away more possession in the second half but Bristol City were gash. Disagree entirely that they looked like they'd score anytime they got in our box. Complete cobblers. Their only opportunity of note was the header off the bar.

Even so, we still had two shots off the woodwork and the Shirt Seller contrived to fuck up two opportunities. It's a damning indictment of his ability that there's no discernible improvement in his general play against a mid table Championship side - parking the finishing and the foul for the FK he was completely anonymous in that first 44 minutes.

It shouldn’t have gone over the wall. Certainly not with a guy lying down but Agbadou’s jump was pathetic. Would have headed it away with just an average jump.

Doubt we'll be changing Sa now this season, tbf he's been fine under Pereira (so far🤞).
Far more pressing concerns in other areas for January.

Listening to the game sounded like we had complete control and would probably have been far more comfortable had it not been for Hwang stupidity.
Often how these types of games go better side gets ahead whilst the lower league side huffs and puffs.
Now for the god of crap draws to give us Liverpool away next.

I view a different Larsen, i think you guys burnout this player.

He is playing a lot games and full games, and most part of time only receive bad long balls. Don't have many option to touch balls.

He is losing that receive he have and that run with the ball he have.

This two manager are using bad Larsen, all time send Long head balls, and that not is the best rol of Larsen. Larsen need touch more normal balls and asóciate with other player

Larsen need first take a break some game, and touch more normal balls.

3 wins out of 4 games for Vitor so far, hopefully he's learning a lot about what he has to play with
