I said our attacking players, or those that are assumed to be attacking, have little or no end impact and that they are not as potent or consistent as some would expect them to be. My own eyes and their stats back me up. I didn't say we don't have any attacking talent.

I didn't see a great deal of Ait-Nouri in person at Angers and so can only go on the videos of what he played like there. I haven't seen anything consistently similar since he's been here.
I do like him though and think he's been great this season [nod to Marcal while I'm at it as he was good last night covering him], so don't think the 'comment is unnecessary'.

I must've misunderstood it when you said our progressive players are not and they have little to no threat.

I maintain its the system not the players as my eyes tell me.

We aren't really neutering them, they just don't score many and never will at the top level.

But all Adama's pre-Wolves goals were in the Championship, Hwang's were nearly all in Austria, most of Trincao's were in Portugal, most of Podence's were in Greece. Not the same standard.

Yep, Hwang was playing for Salzburg, Podence for Olympiacos.

Boro made the playoffs when Adama was there in the Champ (he played 27 PL games the year before and scored 0, to add to his 0 in 10 for Villa).

Trincao was at Braga who are perennial top 3-4.

By that metric no data is relevant to the PL.

Neto and Raul's strike rates are ok, but again it's more the system than the players hampering then imo. And stats are often misleading in this regard.

I think goalscoring records over a number of years are fairly telling to be honest mate.

If any of those make double figures in a Premier League season I'd be amazed. They just don't score many, whatever else they might bring.

I left Neto out because I think he could get you 10 a season, assuming he comes back the same.

That’s exactly what it is. We still create chances and very good ones but none of our forward players make good choices in the final third. See Podence, Adama and Trincao in the second half last night. The game should have been out of sight after 60 minutes.

Realistically it’s why we should have gone for Watkins or Toney a year or so ago . I wouldn’t mind Chris wood either. I know he’s knocking on but he can hold the ball up well and he scores both cf type goals and poachers finishes. Extra height in defence and he could work in the current system. Now that’s just me. No need for any machine gunning ! I know most won’t rate him but given the money he would do a decent job and Fabio can go on loan for two years
