Boris at it again and the contest to replace the lying c***

Oh, and parking charges at hospitals are back too.

They're just mean spirited wankers, honestly. Imagine voting for them, principally because you're a racist but don't want to actually say you're a racist.

Despite their assertions to the contrary, I can only see further dismantling of various sectors of state support. We will see very little re-open. Quite possible this government will be quite happy to see councils go bankrupt (they're not as important as banks...) and very little local social infrastructure will see any of this alleged investment.

Loads of things/services closed owing to covid will never re-open.

The councils thing is something that's been very underreported, but is something that's going to cause a massive number of issues over the next few years.

Money for local government has been cut back so drastically over the last decade that you now have a situation where councils can't actually provide all of the services they are required to provide by law. Some councils are now getting sued for not fulfilling their statutory duties (most commonly when it comes to provision of care for vulnerable people), but the weird thing is that if they lose (and in a lot of cases, that's likely), there's nothing the courts can actually do to force councils to fix the problem, because the money just isn't there. The Tories have basically managed to abolish the parts of the welfare state managed at the local level without having to actually change anything in law.

Predominantly Labour councils too.

Still, got to have our precious Brexit.

Q: Boris, will you take the knee?
A: No, I don't believe in gestures

This is a fucking dismal presser, again. Putting on that stupid voice. Blithering away about nothing. The message basically is "we know this isn't really safe but we're doing it anyway".

Chris Whitty answered that quite well I thought, admitted that there is a risk, but the alternative risk is worse.

All comes back to locking down too late.

Talking a load of fucking shit now about cricket. What a prize cunt.

He gets worse every time he blunders out to make his BIG SPEECH. Appalling.

Good question from the Guardian (?) woman about Cummings and his father travelling to Greece but he completed avoided answering either point

Have you ever heard of a company called Ayanda Capital? Unless you are a currency trader probably not.

It is owned by the Horlick family through an entity based in Mauritius, one of the worst tax havens in the world.

Our government spent a cool quarter of a BILLION quid with them to supply face masks. Ayanda were the only bidders. Seriously, why would a currency trader based in Mauritius be given a contract for RPE?

There is an interesting character involved with Ayanda called Andrew Mills. His LinkedIn profile says that he is a senior board adviser to the company... and an adviser to Liz Truss and The Board of Trade. There is indeed an Andrew Mills listed as an adviser to The Board of Trade.

Go on then I'll bite, a piece backed up by scientific evidence (!) with the punchline 'Rich Arsehole Syndrome', tell me what you find 'great' about it ?
Are you determining that all rich people are arseholes, that all arseholes are rich ? Did you get blood flow to your inner Marxist ?

If you read it you'll know.

Can't be arsed, adverts every dozen lines put me off, although a publication so beholden to consumerism has got to be good...right ?

So to be clear- you've come onto a public forum about politics to tell people that you don't like an article you can't be arsed to read?

I've skim read it, but on the bright side I am now considering an Apple Mac !

And to be clear You've posted it, it's entitled 'Why are rich people so mean' subtitled 'Rich Arsehole Syndrome' on a politics thread, does it need analysing ?

When it uses such mind blowing scientific analysis as "Psychologists Dacher Keltner and Paul Piff monitored intersections with four-way stop signs and found that people in expensive cars were four times more likely to cut in front of other drivers, compared to folks in more modest vehicles"
When Keltner and Piff left a jar of candy in the entrance to their lab with a sign saying whatever was left over would be given to kids at a nearby school, they found that wealthier people stole more candy from the babies."
"many traits characteristic of psychopaths are celebrated in business: ruthlessness, a convenient absence of social conscience, a single-minded focus on “success.”

Quality reading, please let me know when you want to post something from your 'Anyones got more than me is a bastard ' series
