'Better than being an ignorant cunt' - Kathy BurkeJust the word 'woke' pisses me off immeasurably.
It would appear that the right of politics wants people to stop caring and having empathy for others.
30 years ago, if you'd said to me in 30 years time you'll be thinking Ken Clarke is the voice of reason, I'd have probably had to kill youKen Clarke has had the best input into the leadership race so far. His first 30 seconds here sums it up best for me.
I am aware, yes. The first post is a retweet of an old thread, and the subsequent posts are that of the new candidates. The picture may have been relevant in 2019.
It looks like Tom Tugendhat - sorry, "TiT" - is emerging as the leading "sensibles" candidate, with rumours that Hunt may drop out and endorse him. And this is still a guy who thinks war crimes should go unpunished as long as they're proper British war crimes. You could repeat that for the lot of them
Which is why a day of debating no confidence in the Government does Labour no harm.Jacob Rees-Mogg called Sunak a communist. This whole contest is completely divorced from reality.
JRM and Dorries are supporting Truss I think, didn't think I would need an extra reason to not want her.Jacob Rees-Mogg called Sunak a communist. This whole contest is completely divorced from reality.
I don’t think it will make that much difference in the next two years, far more important is that they elect someone a Starmer can beat despite him being duller than a wet weekend in Blackpool to a large number of the electorate.I'd prefer it to be the one who is best?
We are heading for a recession, and the cost of living crisis is going to kill people, i want someone who is as competent as possible.
None of them are good though and the Tories as a whole aren't going to become competent by staying in office under their current guise. They really are fairly indistinguishable from 2012 UKIP now. They're not fit to govern as it stands and need to go ASAP.I'd prefer it to be the one who is best?

I’m confused! You do think it will make a difference which of the leadership candidates is in place for two years but you don’t think it will change if Starmer becomes PM. There’s light and day between Starmer and the best of a very bad bunch, though the adjective best is probably best replaced with least worst.Really? I think the PM and probably to a larger extent the chancellor, are vitally important to how the next 2 years pans out.
I'm not entirely sure that Starmer would offer us a drastic change anyway, of course he won't be a sleazy, corrupt cunt, which will be fantastic, and not having Patel about would also be wonderful, but aside from that, will our lives improve that much? I'm not 100% sure they will.
