Boris at it again and the contest to replace the lying c***

I’m confused! You do think it will make a difference which of the leadership candidates is in place for two years but you don’t think it will change if Starmer becomes PM. There’s light and day between Starmer and the best of a very bad bunch, though the adjective best is probably best replaced with least worst.
I get your point and you are probably right but none of us have any idea what kind of PM he'll make, I've not been impressed so far with his leadership, of course he does have one advantage in that he's not a Tory.

In my view that’s like being a lap ahead in the 800m!

I think the most important thing was a change in our PM, Boris had become a laughing stock, his lies, his corruption, his dick, all just more and more ridiculous.

I want the best PM for this country right now, I think that's a sensible viewpoint, and certainly "better" than wanting the worst one so that they're easy to beat for Starmer, what happens over the next couple of years with a looming recession and the CoL crisis will kill people, party politics aren't important right now, us hopefully getting the best of a bad bunch from these candidates IS important.

Why do you think Starmer is much better than some of the best worst Tory options? What has he shown for you to be so convinced?

"The best of the Tory candidates"... It's a fucking low bar. They are all hideous

I'd rather have an idiot like Truss get the job as she would do the least damage and is unelectable. Can't be doing with a total sociopath getting the job!

You're talking about Tory options that don't exist. Not one person on their list is any good. They all supported Boris Johnson FFS. Possibly barring Tugendhat as he was happy enough to call him (in a roundabout way) a fucking moron a few times but I wouldn't put money on that.

Here's the current frontrunner. "Rebuild the economy that I was in charge of two weeks ago". Yeah, good one bro. And he might well be the "best" one.

I’m happy to trust a Labour Government will be more inclined to look after the needy and vulnerable than any of the Tory candidates. They’re falling over each other to cut taxes and become the nasty party. I think Starmer appreciates you get more by debating with partners and won’t be hell bent on turning everything the EU does into a massive argument simply to try and convince Brexiters that they were correct because those nasty Europeans are in bed with the devil.

Shithousery from Johnson as he goes against Erskine May convention and refuses to allow time to debate the no confidence motion.
It's been given the elbow because the wording is no confidence in the PM and the government. Tories saying there is no PM, and if it's reworded to just government they'll allow it.
Labour pointing out (correctly) he hasn't actually resigned and so the motion should stand as is...

He hasn't resigned as anything, what on earth are they on about.

He has "recognised that the Conservative Party would like a new leader". He hasn't even resigned from that let alone the office of Prime Minister.

If he has indeed resigned then he can stay the fuck away from Chequers all summer and return his top up wages for July and August to the public purse, can't he. And appoint a temporary successor as our system doesn't allow for there being no Prime Minister at any point.

They should. Nobody voted to cut 20% from all public services or to cancel after school clubs or sacking teaching assistants or unfunded rises in military spending or to elect an Mp who didn’t know that a region of Russia was in Russia when in a presser with the Russian foreign secretary or an mp who thought it was jolly japes to keep saying cock in a commons debate etc etc

The most moderate candidate with any chance of winning has been Chancellor for the last 3 years. That tells you what you need to know about anyone acting.

It's not time they're lacking, it's give-a-fuck that's the big miss
Indeed. They're not going to do anything. None of them.

Lewis is an odd one. His site is helpful in parts but the forums have always been populated by deranged people who surely can't function properly. Then refused to say 'Brexit is a shit idea, don't vote for it because you're already poor and this will make you worse off' when he's independent and solely concerned with helping poor people.

Still think the quieter Boris-hating rank and file Tory voter is going to prove key here, despite all of the focus being on the rabid nutters. SKS gives them a sort of ‘safe space’ to trust their vote to Labour and most of the leadership candidates are not going to reverse that.

My call is Tom-Tug getting the gig, which would go some way to placating them and nullifying the comfort zone of Starmer. Might not go down well with the more extreme voters but they’re not likely to switch anyway.

If he could calm the party down two years would seem a long way off. Would feel confident SKS would defeat any of the other nutters in a GE but Tugendhat could cause a big problem for Labour.

Highly unlikely. It's Sunak versus one of the right wingers. The right winger will win imo. It's not people who vote Tory, I think Sunak would have a good chance of winning that, It's the 200k Tory Party members and it's why those on the right are playing the greatest hits
