a) It means nothing
b) Nothing is "done" on 31 October, even if we do officially leave then (which looks unlikely)

I sure it's Cummings phrase,there's a clip of an MP noticing him standing somewhere(all a bit vague,bear with me) MP notices him,says that's Dominic Cummings,and goes to remonstrate about boris' language and how it's causing trouble for MPs with death threats and the like,Cummings replies "get brexit done then" MP really lays into him and Cummings ends up looking at the floor like a guilty schoolboy getting bollocked by his parents

Patel is unbelievable. Hates the North London liberal elite - born in Islington. Hates immigrants - proudly speaks about being a daughter of immigrants.

And yes, lets have a points based immigration system copied from one of the most racist countries on the planet. I wonder what they plan on doing when they realise that British people don't want to do the unskilled, low paid work that immigrants often come here and do - worryingly I think they will attempt to cut people's benefits unless they go and do it.

Always nice to see the return of the phrase "taking back control"
 
It's not a serious proposal, just there to tell those still naive enough to believe he wants a deal that he tried.
 
Put forward idea that EU27 can only say no to, paint EU as intransigent, win election.

None of this is about Brexit any more, just about keeping the Tory party in power, or a specific wing of it. Just Tories being Tories really.
 
That’s why the Benn Act is so important. Hopefully the EU grant an unlimited extension with the idea that you can leave when you come back with a deal that works, that has passed parliament and has been approved by a second referendum. Otherwise the clock stops ticking.

The problem is that even if the extension is granted a general election will follow. The Conservatives will hoover up the votes of those in favour of leaving whereas the remain side of the voting is split between several parties. Alex gets back into Downing Street with a majority and forces through anything that he wants.
 
Would a Government of national unity be able to solve the problem? Mays deal or a Customs union deal against remain in a referendum followed by a general election? I can't see Parliament uniting to see it happen.

A government of unity would work if a back bencher were leader (Clarke/ Harmon) but Corbyn's such a cunt that he can't see this is the right move and let it happen.

Corbyn and Johnson are two power hungry cunts that the country does not need right now.
 
Yeh, it only works with a none divisive grandee figure who's not currently on the front bench

I think it would do Corbyn more good in the medium term if he does agree to step aside for a grandee figure. He gets to look like he's putting the national interest first, and that could work better with voters in the general election that will follow. It would also clear up the Brexit mess that he's got Labour into with their current strategy.
