Boris at it again and the contest to replace the lying c***

This really made me chuckle

A government of unity would work if a back bencher were leader (Clarke/ Harmon) but Corbyn's such a cunt that he can't see this is the right move and let it happen.

Corbyn and Johnson are two power hungry cunts that the country does not need right now.

Only Lib Dems and TIG blocking it now. Is their agenda to stop No Deal or stop Corbyn?

You can't be that obtuse to be ignoring that it is Corbyn that is the problem can you?

Swinson isn't blocking a government of national unity, in fact it is her idea. What she doesn't want is Corbyn in charge, which is in the post you've quoted from me.

If Corbyn really believed it was the right thing to do he would step aside.

Without wanting to get into a Corbyn argument (as I'm hardly a fan of him myself), why should he when he's (love it or hate it) the democratically elected leader of the opposition? If stopping no deal was so important to Swinson, she'd accept this.

But she's right in that it won't pass if Corbyn insists on being the caretaker pm.

BTW cracking gag on mash report. "Jeremy Corbyn wants to be caretaker prime minister. I reckon he could do one of those jobs..."

I'm well aware that the current tactic is to attack Corbyn specifically rather than to attack Labour, but if she was that bothered about stopping no deal, she should accept that any caretaker PM (an awful term but I digress) would surely be the leader of the opposition? Why would it not be?

I don't buy the BS that he'd be anywhere near as bad as Johnson. That's no endorsement of Corbyn either - it's like me saying James would be a better presenter for England matches than Adrian Chiles.

It's not just the lib dems that need to vote for it though, you'd need the tory independents too, no? No chance they'd vote for Corbyn to be even pm for 2 months before guaranteed GE.

Well quite - I don't think it's got any chance of happening because no matter how much is at stake (which is a fucking LOT right now) party politics will always get in the way, and no doubt the Lib Dems wouldn't be the only ones who would refuse to hand power to Corbyn.

Voting against their own party is one thing - voting to give power to the opposition is quite another.

That’s very true. And they would vote for a Clarke / Harman team. This is purely about getting Brexit dead for a bit and then going for a GE at a later point. No more, no less.

Give it to Bercow until the end of the season.

By the same token if it was important to Corbyn he would let a neutral grandee be temporary PM. As Del says other MP's are just not going to vote for Corbyn and it is about him and the leadership of the Labour party in this case.

I can understand her argument that Corbyn is leader of a rival party whereas a grandee would not be and to insist on being PM is a power grab by undemocratic means. No other way an opposition MP would look at this and surely one he can see too.

I think he would be every bit as bad as Johnson and you can replace Momentum for the ERG in Corbyn's case.

That would be glorious. Completely constitutionally insane. And therefore very much in fitting with the British politics of the last few months.

I think Corbyn is weak and would be a poor PM, but as bad as Johnson, who is essentially an Etonian Trump? FFS, come on!

Yep, handing power out to hard left socialists and the Unions is as bad as Johnson imo.

He's already got the support of 4 parties! The Lib Dems are the last obstacle. Remind me again how they get to choose our PM with their 18 seats and 7% of the vote?

No hope for you then. Try and read the manifesto rather than swallowing tabloid nonsense about 'hard left'.

Corbyn is no more "hard left" than I am, in fact I reckon he's LESS of a "leftie" than me

I suppose the same way in which 0.12% of the population voted for the current PM (who doesn't even have a Parliamentary majority), and how a climate change denying, tiny set of lunatics who don't believe dinosaurs existed have propped up the Government for more than two years.
