Boris at it again and the contest to replace the lying c***

It's all coming together now, tredman was buying a Barbour jacket the other day, he's kept it very quiet he's standing for election in north Shropshire

Meh, though, to paraphrase Trump, if I were to stand for election it would be as a Tory as their supporters will believe any old shit and never hold anyone to account.

This is true. Is Neil Hamilton the only one the Tory electorate have ever drummed out for being a dodgy wanker? And that was nearly 25 years ago, probably wouldn't have happened if it were some random anti-corruption guy standing either rather than Martin Bell who was famous.

Went under the radar but the party have re-admitted Rob Roberts as a member recently (although he still sits as an Independent), how does that happen? And rapey Charlie Elphicke having the Whip reinstated so that Cruella could get some horseshit vote through the Commons. They have no standards so long as you agree to toe the line, and their voters will by and large just go along with it. Had Johnson and Rees-Mogg not made such a bollocks of the Paterson affair, the voters of North Shropshire wouldn't be clamouring for him to go, and he'd be finishing his ban around now. Why would they, he's been dodgy as fuck for years, quite openly.

Although I couldn't bring myself to even pretend to be a Tory.

I think the Lib Dems will at worst run them very close. From a 23,000 majority, a very close result would be a shot across the Fat Alex bows. A loss and the email box of the chair of the 1922 committee is going to get busy.

interesting that all the 1922 committee voted against the government the other night.
pretty clear that boris has lost the hard right of the tory party, and many are actively looking to distance themselves from him.
if the tory centre also move away from him, he'll be toast.

Absolute scum the lot of them.

Conservative MP for Beaconsfield Joy Morrissey said: "Perhaps the unelected Covid public health spokesperson should defer to what our ELECTED members of Parliament and the prime minister have decided.
"I know it's difficult to remember but that's how democracy works. This is not a public health socialist state."
Labour has called the comments "unacceptable and dangerous" and urged Justice Secretary Dominic Raab to remove her from her role as his parliamentary aide unless she apologises.

No-one is really with him now. Just they have a dearth of talent to replace him (which was his own doing) and no-one wants the current hospital pass anyway.

Not a single soul bar himself and his unhinged wife thinks he's up to the task.

Trouble is, people on the streets still do, it's incredible.

"Who else could have done any better?"

"Corbyn would have been worse"

"He's had a really tough deal with Covid"

I think that applied a month ago, not so much now.

Things like massive corruption, the initial reaction to Covid (indeed how we've fucked it AGAIN despite fluking a recovery), spoiling for fights with the EU to our own detriment, the Northern Ireland situation, rampant inflation, labour shortages etc etc really should matter but they don't, as people in general aren't very politically engaged.

But the simple "I was told to stay at home last Christmas and not see anyone so I did, you wankers went and lived it up, over and over again" message has actual cut through.

Also he looks and sounds increasingly dreadful, even the most partisan cheerleaders can't ignore that. He's pissed all the time for a kick off.

Look at the state of him here. I wouldn't answer the door to a Yodel driver looking like that*.

*This assumes Yodel can find my house, which is 50/50 at best

So he's done isn't he surely? Trouble is the others are even worse. He's a sociopathic ideological void who just wants to be there but people like Raab and Patel have very unpleasant agendas. Or Truss. Or Sunak. Part of me wants him to wobble on to 2024 when he hopefully leads them to defeat.

Absolute battering that.

The Tory equivalent of me taking GCSE German and failing.
