Blackpool FC

Possibly the land that the stadium and/or training ground are built on I'd guess.

Think Walsall have the same thing going on with Bonser, or did have previously at least, whilst the club own the stadium the chairman still owns the land separately and charges the club rent.

Blackpool fans force the abandonment of their friendly vs Lancaster City.

"Every game until they've gone" is the message from their supporters group.

That will hardly help the team, and will also lead to the club getting into trouble with the FA.

Seems like there were Blackpool fans fighting between themselves as well according to Back Henry Street.

Who cares about trouble with the FA? This is fans trying to take their club back from an utter disgrace to the game.

If they carry on having games abandoned then they could be kicked out of the football league. Then they might care when they do not have a team to support.

The plight of this club seems never ending, if they're not in league 2 next season id be very surprised.

And if they don't protest then Oysten will continue to asset strip and they definitely won't have a team to support.

If Blackpool are removed from the league because of continual abandonments, there is always the chance that a Phoenix club would not be allocated a place in the pyramid. Failing to fulfil fixtures is just about as bad as it can get.

Maybe the FA should start taking action against their owners then rather than looking to blame the fans.

It's fairly easy for them to stop the pitch invasions.

Too right. It says more about the impotence of the stuffed shirts at the FA than Blackpool FC.

No its not, Failing your own supporters is the ultimate sin.

Unless the fences go back up, then how do clubs stop people coming onto the pitch?

The FA are not to blame for the Blackpool fiasco, the owners are, but unless they do something against FA rules, there is little that can be done.

One point that has been overlooked is what the fans who go to watch football? They are deprived of their game because of a few dozen people invading the pitch. Blackpool could well find other teams will cancel pre season friendlies against them, and come the start of the league season, if Blackpool fail to fulfil fixtures, they will be removed from the football league.

I guess if the owners dont give a fuck about the fans they may as well play behind closed doors.

And what about the few dozen Blackpool fans who deprive other football fans from watching a game?

Well the other 71 league clubs don't have problems and to make that kind of comment shows the limited imagination in dealing with situations the FA have.

The fit and proper person test and also moral guidelines for owning clubs should be introduced. Other countries don't have a problem with this but our spineless FA is seemingly inept at introducing such rules. Instead they are more interested in invoking rules that are outdated. Piss poor organisation run by silly old men.

Sometimes you have to accept such measures in the short term, if it resurrects the club in the long term. To just accept the current situation meekly is not what you expect from true fans.
