Best holiday destinations

I'll blog it I think, ain't nobody got time to be reading walls of texts on a forum. Click it if you want to read it, don't if you're not bothered.
I’ll read it. It’s a place on my list to go when I find time.

Yea we need photos on who went down the hill in a bath,or which one of you wore wellies,a woolly hat and chased a German tart with wrinkled stockings ;)

Morning, forum.

Might be booking a city break in October and we're thinking about Prague. I know some of you have been so any recommendations/highlights/lowlights/advice etc?

And is the beer really cheap as well as pretty good...?

Beer is fairly cheep. Last time I was there average price was around £1.30. The Budvar is a bostin beer.

You can book taxis from the airport by going to a counter in the arrivals, they will give you a price to take you to the hotel then call the driver who collects you from the counter - stops you being ripped off!

Pilsner Urquell

Beer is cheapest in Europe! Best advice is honest guide on YouTube,it's a couple of locals doing the sights and showing you good places to eat cheaply and avoid tourists in handy five minute videos
It's a great place,I'd love to live there tbh,I enjoy the James Joyce Irish pub,it's not your usual paddy o'murphys Irish pub abroad,it's got good beer, good food great staff, just a little tricky to find,as it's off the tourist route, not by much, but enough

I’ll ping you a message of where we went a few years ago. Need to look at my photos to refresh my memory.

My only advice would be if you get the option of going midweek rather than the weekend then do so.

Highs
Charles bridge
Castle
Old town square(astronomical clock should be fixed by then)

Lows
Charles bridge
Castle
Old town square, all rammed with tourists
Wenceslas square, lots of pickpockets(especially by the man on the oss, opposite the museum) and it's a bit seedy after dark, drugs and prostitutes.

Other stuff
They do a nuclear bunker and communism tour, starts by the Hard Rock Cafe old town square, and if you want an excellent tour book Praha-caput regni,it's like walking round with a knowledgable mate, and they do tours for just the two of you rather than the huge groups(woman who runs it is a mate of a mate)

Don't know the rates, sorry, get langers to ask when he's out there

We are off on a cruise tomorrow - its been a rough few months so I'm really looking forward to it.

Oslo
Copenhagen
Tallin
St Petersburg
Helsinki
Skagen

Not sure how the Russians will react to the 17 pills I have to take every day. I've got a separate case just for my drugs!
Might be contacting you from a gulag.

We'll be back just as the World Cup starts. I like to thing we are preparing the locals for what is to come!

Sounds awesome! I worked with someone who went on a similar sounding Scandinavian cruise and he loved it. Hope you have a brilliant time bud.

Tallinn is great, walled old town, just the right size and as for Estonian women,I wish I'd have married the one I was with, but it's a long story, see my signature for further details

Everywhere we went was great but St Petersburg is just fantastic....what a city.

Enjoyed a nice vodka in a upmarket bar and a cold Russian beer in one of the World Cup tents!

The buildings and architecture are just out of this world.
