Beer

Result.

Just been down to Tescos to pick up some Staropramen and noticed they had the fabled Golden Glow as well!

Just trying one now. Not bad at all.

Couldn't see the glow in Tesco's in Ashby last night but I did manage to pick up a few bottles of it in the Co-op in Market Bosworth on Saturday.

Gunna have to try this golden glow stuff.

I rate it as the best bottled beer you can get. I'm hoping Father Christmas stops off at Woodsetton on his way to our house this year.

I asked for some recommends before and never bothered. Still a lager and cider man! I shall give it a shot soon though, it's also on in the MEB club ay it. Can try it there.

How does the Pale compare?

It's not all that dissimilar actually - my dad gets them in bulk, most of them are Golden Glow but he also gets packs of Golden and Special. All are exceptionally nice, I'd just rate Golden Glow slightly higher than the others.

Is there a deal on the Glow?

Only runs until 1st Jan :(

Has anyone been to The Three Stirrups in Brewood? We're having a Christmas meal there soon and wondered if it was any good. Apparently they have Wye Valley HPA as a regular ale, so no worries there, but I wondered if the food was up to much.

They have tweeted @holdensbrewery a few times actually - they made a Black Country Beef Stew using Golden Glow (which sounds excellent), so I would assume they serve it there too.

Please let me know what it's like mate.

Will do mate. We're having a set Christmas menu so the Beef Stew might not be an option.

No, just a group of mates. We've organised it cause we've hardly been out all together since having Bea and we wanted to make an effort. None of my mates have had kids so they all still do things very last minute meaning I can rarely get involved.

Ah good so that means you can 'fully research' the ale selection?

Too fucking right! Going to the Posada first who have got Bathams as a regular now too. Happy days :pint2:
