Beer

Portobello Star in The Cricketers at Ickleford.

Currently in the Doric Arch, London drinking this very beer. Most pleasant.

A day on the best ales in London awaits - I expect a sore head and wallet tomorrow.

I'm around Euston on Tuesday on route to Bruges. Might check this Euston Tap out.

Marston's Double Drop is 99p a bottle in Lidl. Well bum.

7% and rich with toffee notes...heads gone.

just so you know and not that anyone is really interested but I detest beer! Gaseous substance that serves no purpose other than to bloat with me I am afraid. Jack Daniels - now thats another matter

I stumbled across a beer festival in Barcelona the other day

There were some really interesting brews available. There was also a lot of interest and support for cerveza artesana.

Proper beer isn't gassy.

After drinking various Inbev and other slight variances on the same old German lager theme for 25 years I had the chance to try my first IPA (a Bavarian one) the other day - Sub-fucking-blime. Only massive downside is the price at about €7 a litre as anything non-norm has to bought at specialist shops or online.

Go to Andechs. The dunkel dopple-bock is the best beer I've ever tasted.

Just got tickets for next Thursday at Nottingham Beer Festival. Apparently there will be over 1200 beers there this year going to try and sample as many of them as possible...

I'd advise you drink halves as opposed to pints!

If you haven't already tried it I can recommend the Navigation Gold.

Going out in Brum tomorrow - where is good that is going to accomodate lager (I know) + ale drinkers?

Going to be at a meal in the Mailbox and staying in Holloway Circus so somewhere around that area is preferable - plus any other must's.

Go to the Brewdog Bar - that will be a good compromise. There's a mixture of both and it's a very decent place. Some of the beers are rocket fuel though so be careful!

If you can, the best pubs in Birmingham are The Wellington and The Post Office Vaults. - the latter has a vast collection of bottled beers that might also be appropriate.
