Is that really that great in this day and age?
11 out of 15 beers are sub 5% pale ales. There's one black IPA, one porter and 2 brown ales - hardly that wide a range considering the marketplace in 2017.

I wish the pubs round Hinckley had that kind of choice.

Didn't know PO Vaults was BCA too...

Still belies my point though. It's kinda like a cheese company doing 10 different types of cheddar but only one stilton....
The Vaults is not a BCA pub (nor is the Woodman) but I think the landlords of the 3 work closely together.

Disagree with the analogy though TBH. Plenty of variety in the Welly, just not to the extent you appear to want. If I went on a bit of a testing session, I wouldn't want to be switching between such a wide range of styles. And that's not an uncommon attitude.

But like I say - I wonder if they choose to specialise in real ales and leave the wider range to their friends around the corner? If you want pub grub, the Woodman is the best bet. It's a good mix.

Yeah, I get all that, but the market has changed massively even in the last year. I just think 16 taps calls for more variety than 11 beers of the same style.

But the demand is still there for the range and styles the Welly offers. Which is why they offer it. Nowt wrong with it the way it is.

I guess the Welly needs to service its customers first not people who want to see more range.

We are going to the Thinktank on Sunday as it's my son's birthday. We might pop into the Woodman for lunch - what are the food prices like?

I guess so. I'm just being pinickity as it's heralded as the #1 boozer in Brum.

Surprising! You can get a decent pub meal for about £8. Standard burger, lasagne, pie, scampi style menu. It's a good place. Child friendly too - I took mine there when we went to the Think Tank.

Not like you mate... ;)

At the end of the day it doesn't pretend to be anything it isn't. And the quality of the beer it does sell is consistently good.

Brewdog Brim will have 5am Saint LIVE available tomorrow.

Anyone on here had anything from Jolly Pumpkin? Tap takeover on at a local bar, trying to decide if I should head over and have a few beers.
Great shout Lycan. JP available in Brewdog leeds. An exceptional brewer.

Just picked up some Hop Shot. £6.75 for a 110 ml bottle...

Also got to try the 5AM Saint LIVE. Love the smell of the live variants as there's so much more there. To me, it made the beer easier to drink than the bottled version and was rather nice.

(Best I can do)

Hope they start doing 5AM Live in all their bars. The Dead Pony Club version is really nice.
