How things come around. When I first started drinking, Joules were a reasonably sized independent brewery in Stone with a lot of outlets. In the early 70s they were swallowed up by Bass, the Stone brewery closed and production moved to Burton and the brand eventually dropped. It was and is a bloody good drop.

Just had BrewDog's adopt a bastard which is our go at Stone's Arrogant Bastard recipe, not too bad actually!

Just had BrewDog's adopt a bastard which is our go at Stone's Arrogant Bastard recipe, not too bad actually!

Got a bottle of Arrogant Bastard Ale in the cupboard... Was considering the Adopt a Bastard in Cardiff the other night but went for the Hop Fiction and Dogma. Can't say I'm a fan of the latter...

A farily beefy 6.6% stout with cocao and vanilla in the mix.

I'm not really much of a connoisseur of stouts and porters, so I'll be drinking with heightened senses and interest.

The Mud City Stout is decent, had it from a bottle recently.

I'd say it's a little lacking in depth compared to others on the market but it's a good drink
