Beer

I assume it's heavy on pork dishes?

Just back from a few pints after work. Had a lovely new Irish pale ale called Cute Hoor. Absolutely delish, quite mild, but perfect for the beer garden and the sun.

Irish pale ale as in "Irish pale ale" or as in "pale ale from Ireland"?

Random! Why?

Normally only pork would be sausages I guess.

From what I understand there aren't many cows in Britain, so that would more or less rule out beef. Beef and pork are the most common American barbecue meats.

The French don't call us les rosbifs for nothing.

Can't move for sodding cows here, can see them from my front window most times and I live on the edge of a medium sized town.

Well, there goes my entire perception of the average British diet.

I mean I always thought it was a bit odd but then you are on a small island so it wasn't beyond possibility.

Roast beef is our national dish!

What, do people generally know that? I didn't even know countries had national dishes.

The American national dish has to be the hamburger surely..?

It's probably a symptom of being a young country, you just don't have the history which leads you to national dishes and lederhosen.

Just cooling a bottle of Yakima IPA in the fridge to enjoy with TFI.... No biggie.
