Baseball thread

And world series can be the most bonkers. Two games in say LA, followed by three in say Boston, and then back to LA for the last two. (Depending on seedings etc etc etc).

Baseball does not have a friendly carbon footprint.

Will throw game start times as well.

Yankees opener tomorrow. 6pm, 6.30 maybe 6.45..nah we start at 6.38.

I believe thats for TV, no big build up on local TV, so intro at 6.30, adverts, game.

I’ve been an idle Orioles follower for a few years. Pleased they made the playoffs and then turned out they were on the telly this week, so tuned in:

One run in about 7 hours. Yep, let’s make cricket more exciting like baseball.

I get that just my brain can't cope with US timings.

It's like Last Week Tonight when they tweet "our show starts at 11.04 on the dot tonight"

So it's

Guardians v Yankees in the ALCS
Mets v Dodgers in the NLCS

Yankees win the ALCS 4-1
Into their first WS since 2009.
Likely to face the Dodgers who are 3-2 up v the Mets

Not the Orioles or Padres as I wanted, but no denying it’s a proper clash coming up in the final.

Shame about The Guardians from a Cinderella story perspective. Their wage bill is 23/30 whereas the other 3 are all in the top 5.

Shohei Ohtani's 50th home run ball sold for just under $4.4m!

Now a court case to decide who owns it and gets that money after a fan claimed the ball was grabbed out of his hand and he should be classed as the owner.

Dodgers offered the person who put the ball up for auction €300,000 for it.

Dodgers should be the winners of the WS.

Won the first 3 but the Yankees won yesterday but can't see them winning the final 3, the Dodgers will grab the 1 they need. Big players like Judge just not turned up at all for NYY.

Yes, there was nothing more sure than a Yankees win last night. No way they were going to refund the final game in NY

Although I've been to a game at both the new and old Yankees Stadoum, after the behaviour of the one fan yesterday, ripping the ball out of the outfielders hand and him getting something of a celebrity status for it rather than the round of fucks he deserved, I'm quite happy they lost

I'm glad because they are the Yankees. Doesn't mean I particularly like the Dodgers who a) have a salary set up similar to Chelsea, strangely enough, and are trying to buy the championship, and b) should still be in Brooklyn
