Aston Villa

So you have a penalty in the last minute to probably save your job and you decide to let the bloke who has scored 6 goals in the last 10 years take it.

Inspired decision that....
Think that says more about the likes of Grealish etc than Whelan. No bottle.

Well, there were no strikers on the pitch because the bruceysaurus subbed them all off to shut up shop against the bottom side. Which worked excellently.

They are a VERY poor side.

He’s blaming the ref in his post match interview and having a dig at the fans again, be surprised if he’s in charge at the weekend.

We bought two goalkeepers this summer, today we played neither and instead pick a bloke we released in the summer for a bit because he wasn't as good as the bloke we sent out on loan because he wasn't good enough.

At right back we played a player who is naturally a right wing back but has played mostly at right back for us.

At centre half we played our centre half, he's not very big, so in his last season in the Premier League, his then manager, Tony Pulis played him at right back. Anyway, he got sent off. We replaced him at centre half with a right back.

in the other centre half position we played a player on loan who has mostly played as a right back.

At left back, we played our dependable right back.

in the holding midfield position we played a holding midfielder.

In our central midfield positions we played two central midfielders.

On the left wing we played a central midfielder - he has played in the past on the left wing however, so in the second half we moved him to the right wing just in case.

On the right wing we played a striker.

Up front we played a talented young striker. We took him off.

He's not helping himself is he.

Brazil on talkshite this morning was concentrating on how throwing the cabbage was disrespectful, rather than looking at the truly woeful performance. The media are trying to keep him in the job.

Bruce has taken the attitude I know best and look at my track record. He’s going to war with the fans at the end of every game.
He talks about the fans like none of them know nothing about football.
Mick was doing similar things here at the end of his reign.

The difference being that whether you agree with that attitude or not, Mick had years of credit in the bank here. He could legitimately point to tangible achievements.

Steve Bruce has achieved nothing at Aston Villa. They are more or less where he found them, with an unbalanced squad in the middle of the Championship. It's just taken two years and a ridiculous amount of money to move nowhere.

Yes but the stupid twat is saying they should respect him because he got to a play off final (and lost) in a season he and they expected to walk the league

Like the e&s showing a picture of a cabbage, not THE cabbage, just a cabbage, in case anyone was unaware what one looks like.

and its not even the same type of cabbage! Shocking level of accuracy

Who was in goal for Villa? Appalling

Dreadful defending on the 2nd Villa goal and the penalty to Preston looked very harsh to me

Mark Bunn

No sign of Uncle Jorge's gift

Bruce doesn't like the Mendes link. Obviously he watched how it worked last season for us and decided it was a bad idea to copy.

Nyland has looked awful so far, I saw Moreira vs Yeovil...wow. Bad at everything.

So now they're playing their fourth best keeper (who they actually initially released at the end of last season) because they played Steer for one game then loaned him out.

The cabbage in as caretaker boss?
