Aston Villa 1-0 Wolves: Verdict Thread

People just jump on the bangwagon and see a flag criticising Fosun and think ‘yeah, I hate Fosun too, il hold a flag saying this’ I doubt they’ve looked and gone ‘brilliant we’ve got a Taiwan flag there to, happy days’

Naturally some of the them I’m sure are likely racist. There will be a lot of them who aren’t I’m sure.

For all we know it’s not meant in a racist way that is being portrayed by some. Equally it could be.

All been taking abit out of proportion in all honesty.

Easiest thing Ofcourse is dont have a flag with the Taiwan flag on, as it has no relevance to his ability in his role, is needless and cab cause these types of conversation. Hardly a lack of ammunition on Mr Shi is their

It all started with SBR's blog post he called all this on.
Was that the one where he said that Hwang was guaranteed to play every game because Jeff owns a Korean channel?

Worked out well today. Or indeed the 15+ games where he was an unused sub last season.

Anyone listening to that deluded fantasist needs their head looking at.

The very same.

If only there was a dormant coherent blog writer out there somewhere... ;)

Ah mate, I don't have time now I work for The Man.

Plus I used to drive a lot of traffic through Twitter and I am going nowhere near that site ever ever again.

I still can’t believe we were offered, and then turned down 30m (was it) for hwang. Would’ve been up there with us signing Fabio for the team purchasing him

£20m I think, from Marseille.

We also somehow turned down £30m for Kilman and got offered more a year later.

Football clubs are stupid.

Stroke of genius on the latter. Maybe Jeff does know what he’s doing 😏

Well I wouldn't call it genius as I had to watch the big lug lumber around for another 38 games. I can't put a price on that.

And he bought Doc back. I’d say he’s in your head rent free, if you weren’t paying to watch them 😊

So. Arias. I completely take exception with the idea that he might be interchangeable with Munetsi and Hwang as was suggested somewhere on this forum in reflection on the game. And I don’t think he’s amazing before anyone starts. Simply, because of the absolute, incredible, base level of ability from the alternatives he clearly is, and was miles, ahead. He kept the ball. He looked to play. And if you watch how he carried the ball up the field and then worked to show for it, and move it, in the move of perhaps our season (world’s lowest bar), well, how can you compare him with those two clowns?

He’s still not that good. And was lucky not to get sent off, the tit. And we are tragic. Just in case you thought I was happy.

I'd rather play myself than Munetsi or Hwang, and Arias obviously has more ability than those two, but I'll withhold my jizz until he actually scores or assists for us (his job).

Currently he's more likely to prevent one of our goals for than enable it, but yeah there's no-one else so he may as well play.

He's still not a 'colossal' improvement though ;)

Agree with the first paragraph. He’s not more likely to prevent a goal than enable it though is he? And the improvement is colossal, possibly infinite. But I’ve been over why that is and so have you in fairness.

We need to find a way of playing him centrally or across the front as it’s all he does and he’s all we have, so that’s that really. He was more part of the improvement towards the lofty heights of too little too late adequacy rather than a brake on it, is my point I suppose.

This is pathetic btw and the kind of nonsense which has cost us all season. As I've said before, the difference between us on 2 points and Leeds/Burnley on 11 is a lack of heart.
It's endemic in football not just our players, 90% of Leeds/Burnley players would have done exactly the same.

What's pathetic is this is from a villa supporting account, when they were falling over at every opportunity. They also have John McGinn (arguably as big a diver as any player in the league) in their team.

He took the studs on the top of his foot, and I expect it would have hurt him tbh. Kamara took a similar challenge from Arias that was checked for serious foul play that resulted in his yellow (which was the right decision imo).

what pissed me off more in the match was villa and mcginn moaning out our free kick placement, when they seemed to want to dictate where they took free kicks and throw ins from. I mean digne must have walked at least 20 yards down the line on a few occasions, often taking throws from inside our half, when the ball went out in the villa half. ref was piss weak in dealing with it.

Gomes was shite yesterday. Lost out on loads of 50/50 tackles, turned the opportunity to shoot down several times and was really poor with his passing.

He's got an abundance of shit around him, but could do with him getting back to the level we know he's capable of.

As good as both Brazilians can be in their own way, I just think it's an additional killer having no one in central positions who's any kind of a goal/assist threat whatsoever.

Not their fault, just abysmal squad creation
This is the biggest with the squad. Jeff thought he had 2 people in Vitor and Teti that could create a squad who would comfortably stay up. But with no creativity or ball carrying ability either side of them they’re practically wasted. Andre showed yesterday he can play passes through the lines though and with more in-front of him we would be able to create more.
