The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

Not going to pin that one on the club, he looked rubbish in various loan spells in the Championship.

Yes I agree with that as I certainly wasn’t clamouring to sign him before. I suppose what I should have stated is that players who have impressed in the Premier League will not be coming to us, we have to spot the talent or take a punt beforehand.

We did get Calamity Nathan but it's probably a stretch to say he impressed. Also out and out strikers are thin on the ground these days and so will always be a bit different.

For the record I'm OK with Jørgen, think he's getting a bit of a raw deal lately. He's a good player. Plus we've basically already bought him.

That was Ipswich's transfer strategy in general. Delap, Muric, Clarke, Townsend, Greaves, O Shea, Philogene, Palmer. All players who'd spent the majority of their careers at that level. Which is why they look like a very good Championship team. Delap an obvious hit, Palmer based on today, the rest have been what they are (Philogene too new to rate)

They’ve spent an awful lot on precious little quality. Whether Delap will make up the losses on the rest will determine if the strategy has paid off if they go down.

Yeah Larsen is pretty good. Not the type of player some might want him to be but he can lead the line well and just suffered by being coached by a moron first and flogged a bit

He is pretty good. He hasn't been under this manager though, bar a good goal coming off the bench. Might be coincidence, might be that he was carrying his injury longer than we know, or it might be that he wants a centre forward that can hold the ball up for us to counter. He can't do that at least at the moment, it doesn’t stick and he's easy to knock off the ball.

On vibes I’d love it. Can he still do it at this level, though? We should never have got rid but he was starting to decline a bit (though, who wouldn’t under Lage).

Hmmm wouldn't have minded as a wildcard/stopgap option for last month's window if we hadn't got other targets in, but a bit of a retrograde step (and pretty unimaginative) if we do it in the summer when Vitor has a clean slate to develop his vision for us

We've got Tom King to do all the cheerleading now so no...

Having Coady back would mean another year of no progression if we stay up.

I thought it was a bad idea in Jan but I was at least happy that people were happy. In the Summer I wouldn't even have that.

Love Coady but we just don't need him, Mosquera, Toti, Agba, Djiga, Doc, Santi is enough surely. If we want replace Santi and or Doc, then it needs to be an upgrade not just treading water.

I would love to see Coady back in some sort of coaching capacity at Wolves.

His love for the club, rapport with the fans and passion for the game is something we’ve been massively lacking since him and Nuno left the club.

Might not be as effective on the pitch but might be able to work wonders off it.

I wouldn't have minded Coady in January in a swap with Dawson because I thought Coady wouldn't play loads, would provide good leadership and we'd be in at least a break even position even if it didn't work out considering Dawson was never going to play for us again.

In the Summer we will have all of Mosquera, Agbadou, Djiga and Toti - Doherty and Bueno will need replacing so we might need one more but in that window you have got time to source someone better so I think the window for it has passed.

If Coady is behind Vestergaard and Faes at Leicester he’s clearly not good enough for anyone in the PL. It’s a massive no from me. Prior to bringing in Agbadou and Djiga there was at least a discussion to be had but with these two together with Mosquera returning it makes no sense whatsoever.
