Wolves v Millwall - "It's the hope that kills you" Build Up Thread

Derby lose
+ Brentford don't win
+ Wolves win
= we are in the playoffs ;)

Trouble is...........

Or, Wolves win and Ipswich lose, and there's a combined swing in goal difference of 7 in our favour. (Provided at least one of Derby and Brentford doesn't win as well, also.)

Wherever we finally end up just hope we go out with a bang - a good performance & 3 points in a full stadium (Jack Harris & Stan Cullis stands sold out apparantely) with raucous support for a team who have done well this season (even if we do ultimately fall short)

Looking forward to a good weekend up there.

They havent even opened all the Stan Cullis stand AGAIN!...what a waste that new stand has been.

Looking forward to this - bringing the good lady wife up for her first experience of Molineux and, arguably more importantly, the Western.

Sorry if I am missing something here. Ipswich could lose 2 or 3 at Blackburn who have a good goal scoring record. If that happens we need to stuff Millwall by 4 or 5 and hope Brentford dont win by more than 2. If this all happens Derby are irrelevant. If This all happens and Derby lose then us and Brentford finish 5th and sixth! Please correct me if my maths is wrong here. Its been a stressful week! Whatever happens we must hit Millwall for 6. Do that and we stand a chance

That all looks pretty sound to me maths-wise Cyber.

An unlikely scenario, but we must do our bit by absolutely tonking Millwall.

I think us winning by 6 and Ipswich losing at Blackburn is more likely than Derby losing to Reading who haven't won in 9 in the league losing 6 of them and all since the FA Cup semi.......still extremely unlikely though!

I can see us winning by seven, Ipswich losing and derby drawing. Big party. Spoiled by a 4-0 Brentford win.

It would be sods law that we suddenly went batshit mental and then Brentford fuck us up. The seven has a nice parallel with bristol rovers' equally fruitless thrashing of Alfreton.

Don't we usually play in a new kit on the last game of the season? Surprised we haven't heard anything about a new one yet.

Well, we did last season anyway.

We did last season because it was only a design change. Next season will be a sponsor change so that's why there's nothing on Saturday.

Late on parade with this answer, but West Mids Police expecting issues as well.

Feel a bit sorry for the regular Millwall fan to be honest.
It must be a fucking nightmare at some away matches because of these bellends.
I remember in the 80's they played down the Albion one boxing day and id gone along with my baggie mates. Millwall only had around 40 fans (if that) in that huge Smethwick end...None them were your typical casual, just old blokes with scarves. They thrashed the baggies that day on the pitch and there were loads of Albion twats wanting to batter them outside.
Funnily that day, i reckon every Millwall fan had 2 coppers to them on the terrace.

West Mids Police probably always expect trouble.

Just hope that there isn't any and we all have a good day out (or 2 days in my case) whatever the result.

I think they die hard proper fans are that use to being escorted about away games it comes as second nature.
Saturday will be the biggest I've ever seen them bring usually they only bring 200.
