Wolves History Thread

A very good and balanced 8 minute feature on Peter Knowles.

I was gutted when he retired in 1969, but after reading and seeings the comment about Knocker and the peace and satisfaction he has had with his subsequent life you have to hand it to him for making the decision and sticking with it.

Can still often be seen in town. He's a very nice man who always seems happy with his lot. Can't put a price on that.
Exactly.

Yes, Wolves and football lost a great talent, but he found true happiness and contentment in his life and shared it with his loved ones and those that came into contact with him.

I have a huge admiration for him.

It's an absolute rocket. Though I've also got a lot of time for Camara's goal at home to Everton from the back end of that season.

Neves chip against Watford
Doc against Man City as a team goal
Jota"s winner against Leicester
Jota against Utd

The last 3 aren't better goals, they are better moments. Rae's certainly isn't my favourite, I wasn't there.

Jota vs Cardiff was a great team goal

Neves vs Watford the best individual IMO. Cunha vs Forest a decent shout

Sarabia vs Spurs doesn't fit into either category really but easily the best goal we've scored in the PL

Jimenez v Liverpool for a team goal
What a thumping goal that was!

I love the Raul / OG goal at Chelsea when he and Jota exchanged those one twos. Scruffy and brilliant, everything about the character we once had.

Chris Smalling /thread.

Neves v Man United. I love shots that come off the cross bar.

Jimenez v Saints just for the pure emotion and what it meant.

Jimenez v Liverpool for team goal. That game merited a Champions League semi final. Two good teams just going at it. I've never enjoyed a loss more.

One which hasn't been mentioned for team goal, David Jones v Spurs

I’ve been thinking about this for a few weeks now - I’d like to set up a new thread where the TWF members can select their best goals of the decade - 1990s, 2000s and 2010s to start with.

Then I’d create a compilation video of the favourite 20 goals for each decade - as selected by The Wolves Forum - to post on The Wolves Archive.

Despite the ups and downs of Wolves over the last 30+ years we have scored quite a lot of tremendous goals.

Has Neves vs Derby been erased by the thought police or something? Control and volley there.

10 years ago today, a Molineux thunderbolt from Conor Coady!

Oh.

Was also Yannick Sagbo's debut which was something to behold, as well as hair stroking era Richard Stearman getting mugged off by Grant Holt.
