Wolves / Covid-19

Afraid not. This is where I cash in away friendlies against Willenhall, Grays and Wrexham. I knew this would come in handy. I've been waiting 25 years on the first one.
 
Whatever system the club use, people will still lose their shit if they don't get in.

I think we will drop our 1 home pre-season rule this year if full capacity is allowed again from June. We could played Hednesford's U15's and we would sell out
 
Oh yeah. We didn't care about the opposition when we were in the EL. Not many teams (even with similar/smaller size stadiums) would be selling out against Crusaders and Pyunik, pretty sure the likes of Southampton/Fulham/West Ham (at Upton Park) didn't in their preliminary games, not really even close.

Plus we're unlikely to be touring anywhere.
 
Doubt I'll be able to go till 2022, wouldn't expect full capacity till then....depends on the numbers I suppose

Using some sporting events as testing before the official date for the return of 25%/10k max. League Cup and FA Cup Finals could be used.
Full capacity's could return from the 21st June. That will be reviewed of course.

There is a reason the Government are trying to get the Euro's over here as they think they will be able to have near full attendences after the Group Stages and might be able to invite a small amount of away fans (rumoured at 3000) for the knock out games. Presume those attending from outside the UK will require vaccine passports to gain entry

am I being too namby pamby? All seems a bit soon to me
 
One for the main Covid thread really but once the most vulnerable are sorted (most of them are) AND you've done the over 50s as a double barrier then you're really not risking much.

Dreadful for those who literally can't have the vaccine but we can't keep society shut for <1% of the population. Anyone who actively chooses not to have it, fuck them, your problem if you die.

Its finding the balancing act isn't it. It probably should go out further but then the longer it goes on the more and more businesses that go under etc.

By June the Vaccine programme should be protecting 99% of those who make up the numbers in terms of hospital and deaths, so in theory it should be safe but they have backed all this up with saying things will be constantly reviewed before going ahead

Problem is the virus could run wild among the people who haven't/can't/won't be vaccinated and cause loads of mutations.
 
Maybe, but we can't live on the basis of vague possibilities. Because this has lasted so long (far too long, caused by failures at the top) people are sort of accustomed to it now, but it's not sustainable. Viruses always mutate, it's what they do and why it's a different flu vaccine every year.

We also can't have the "just a little bit longer" model for any more time as we've heard it far too often and it's always bollocks. Like when my Da promised me that Machynlleth wasn't that far from Aberystwyth when we first went, "we're in Wales now, it's not far". Well, in comparison between here and New York, no. But it bloody isn't close.

Zero Covid isn't a thing in the UK (we can't operate like NZ for a number of reasons, one being they have competent people in charge and we broke that stable gate some time ago) so we have to push the button when the risk is low, which it should be.

Given they have to make very few decisions from here, unless they deliberately try to be clever* then it should be fine.




*They are not clever and they should never attempt this.
 
Also the sooner I can start banging on about how Mark Burke was horribly done by, Eric Young proving that "cult heroes" are a load of shite and that we did right in not signing Guy Whittingham, the better. Amateur epidemiology is no fun.
 
Well, it's essentially Whittingham or Goodman, we were never having both.

I'll have the one who could do other stuff than knock in tap ins and I think you'll actually agree when you reconsider your rash stance on this argument.

Second bit isn't true, he got done at Vale with a scandalous challenge and that's about it.

Also Taylor liked Greasy Lee Mills for a while (I did not for the avoidance of doubt).

Maybe I'm just too cautious....but the thought of going into another lockdown in late Summer makes me shudder.....I simply don't trust people to behave properly I suppose.......hopefully my concerns are unfounded.
Btw what you on about Aberystwyth and Machynlleth are almost next door.
