Wolves are SOLD and Darlo finally has smooth thighs!

First order of business is to make new home page for Wolves. Current one is horrible.

I know - I've been in a meeting for the past hour and cant believe how many people have jumped on this one line.

My fave is a tweet at Tim "New owners same old Shit"

Awesome stuff

I did not prefer watching a Dean Saunders team, listening to Dean Saunders every day and having to temporarily withdraw my attendance because of Dean Saunders preferable to last season.

Fair, but I do like the fact that I've seen an exciting Wolves team in league 1, some could argue Saunders masterminded it......

I just like football to be interesting and since MM took charge we've had lots of interesting times supporting Wolves, far more than most clubs IMO. Whilst relegation hurts, it does give you something to look back at and remember. Mid table mediocrity is forgettable.

£30m That buys you 2 Jordan IBe's. Its a pathetic amount of money for the English market. I guess its time to pull my pants back up.

Or 6 £5m players who with the right scouting and selection will easily get you promoted in the next two seasons. Some people are fucking unreal

How has it taken 110 posts for you to end up on my ignore list? Such a clown.

@tim_spiers_Star Jackett likely to be sacked after the initial takeover statement is made. Timeframe not definitive.

@tim_spiers_Star Won't be a coincidence that Lopetegui to Spain + Wolves takeover announced within minutes of each other. KJ to stay? Key question unanswered

It has been answered Tim. You said this morning he's "likely" to be sacked. In the Press Conference that you said is "likely" to be tomorrow (...well actually Monday) but you weren't to know that.

It's 20-30m more than Morgan was going to invest, so I don't understand how fans can be anything other than delighted with this news.

Today is the dawn of a new era for Wolves....

This is what matters.

'Our goal is crystal clear: we will do our very best to help take Wolves back to the Premier League as soon as possible and to stay there. We believe the club and the fans belong at the top of English football and getting there is our first and top priority.'

I agree with this, this is the line I picked up on, and the references to our history.
I wouldn't want guaranteed success if that was possible which its not.
I want Molyneux to be bouncing with positive energy.
I want ambition and passion and some tactical nous, not cringing when we play shit on Sky everytime we're on. At 52 I now have hope that we may win some more major silverware to go with the league cup I saw in 1980.(before I die)
:charge:
look out here we come

Are people really complaining at investment of only £20-30m? Get a fucking grip you numpties. We had about 10p to spend up until a few hours ago.

I'm glad they have short and long term plans and I'm glad that we will no doubt have new players (albeit from one agent) to gaze at. We might even have a proper left side of a football team to watch week in week out.

I found Saunders' reign interesting in the same way I'd find contracting cholera interesting. I've never done it before and I'd have a story to tell at the end. It's in no way desirable though.

Wow.

<Wolves spend £32m by August 2017>

"They LIED to us! They said it'd only be £30m. Booooooooooo!"

Certainly won't sack him via phone.

No doubt he will arrive back tomorrow afternoon and have a meeting. Might happen tomorrow afternoon and Edwards will take the Vale game.

They may sack him by e-mail. Just get rid, ASAP. The sooner we have a manager who knows what he is doing, the better.

Hahahahahaha we've moved past the initial excitement in record time and found something new to wet our pants about.

We're in good hands and we'll be spending to get competitive quick.

The fans that are moaning already have soured it a little today for me, so many seemed to get swept away in the Robin Li 'we are going to be the next Man City' fantasy that achieving an owner like we have now got seems a disappointment to them.

They stated they wanted us in the top flight
They made a very positive point about the academy and it's importance to long term
They have expressed funds available

Added to that they seem to have conducted the buyout with very minimal fuss and no clamouring or noise, very business like. All of that is positive, and as you said is a fair cry from the summer we had up to this point.

For me and after a short period of considering it, it seems to be part of the Morgan "legacy". He invested £30m, so these guys will be doing the same. Nothing at all from our new owners about a projected limit to investment at all.

We need to watch this space over the rest of July and August. I would imagine we will go heavily over this purported figure very quickly.

who knows whether the level of money mentioned was just Steve passing on a minimum investment clause. though i'd rather nothing had been said about it too.

unfortunately the speculation linking us to various high value players in the run up to this deal creates an expectation and because of that it's sometimes better to get interim press releases out.

but it's done now, we wanted a sale, the ambition is there and i'm looking forward to hearing what's said on monday.
I'd say the 20-30m figure might be a helpful way of trying to manage expectations after some of the wild and ridiculous stuff that has been floating about online over the past week or so.
