Wolves 4-2 Tottenham: Verdict Thread

They won't.

Even when Sky were praising Vitor they chucked in "O'Neil said he needed a CB and they got one for Vitor and look at the difference"
Gary wanted Tippex Teeth O'Shea.

I imagine that would have gone as well as the amazing £10m goalkeeper he signed for us, who can't even sit on the bench that often.

Very enjoyable afternoon, we're a proper team now and the players are united in the goal. 4 wins and a draw from the last 5, beautiful!

Great to see Cunha back, got a standing ovation as he came on, did well and his goal was a joy to behold, he immediately went and bowed to the South Bank. Good also to see JSL continue his fine form. The defence defended well and Joao Gomes and Andre were their usual imperious selves.

I've driven home with a smile on my face. Just a couple of weeks ago 17th seemed the best we could hope for but now we are 16th and in touching distance of Spurs and United.

I absolutely love Vitor, great to see him soaking up the adulation at FT, he (and his team) deserve it - a season of 2 halves!

Strange game in many ways. Got ourselves into a very comfortable position and should have been 3 or 4 up at half time as Tottenham were utter shite. Then, being Wolves, we let them back in the game not once but twice. And, of course, because this is Spurs, they immediately let us restore our advantage.

Overall, a job reasonably well done with outstanding displays by Agbadou, Gomes and Andre. I would have included Semedo in that list but for the bollock he dropped letting them get their first. On the downside, Sarabia was poor IMO and I wasn't too happy with some of the sloppy passes after we went 2-0 up.

I also wasn't too impressed with taking Gomes off with some 10 to 15 mins to go and thought that was very risky. When they pulled it back to 3-2, I expected us to pay the price for that decision but then Cunha did Cunha things. His quality is beyond reproach but his histrionics do him no favours.

More than happy to climb the table and with 6 games left in the season, it's nice to sit back and relax a bit. Tough game next week and we'll need to be better defensively. And on that note, Agbadou has been immense. A truly great signing and much credit should be given to those at the club who found him and brought him in. I'd even go as far as to say that as important as Cunha has been, this guy has shored us up at t'other end and is just as important.

Well done Wolves. We have a team again.

Come on, he had fuck all to do with either of those, just as he didn't Andre. Plenty of sticks to beat him with without making stuff up

Agbadou hasn’t made the difference between 9 and 26 points from 16 games. Prospective employers will see that irrespective of what a few pundits are saying on Sky. We were a shambles all over the pitch and that’s becoming clear to anyone who cares to look. He’ll get lower Championship at best.

Think JG picked up a knock Squeak and that's why he came off

I would say GO wanted O'Shea or was on his "Prem ready" list. The fact we put a limited budget on him says so for me.

He would also have been happy with Ramsdale if we had dropped the limited budget stance.

You reckon?

He kept banging on about having more of a British core, did it constantly. None of our other scouting would have turned up that pair?

I'm just glad we failed with one, we'll have to give the stiffest keeper in the world away for nothing.

He wanted a new keeper and centre half, he got whatever he got, just like he didn't want a centre midfielder and got one of those. At best Hobss would have run names by him, but the notion we were trying to sign his players is for the birds

Thought at times both teams were poor quality, although Wolves were the better team throughout. A couple of comedy goals in the game.
Andre and Gomes were imperious.
The worst defensive display I've seen in a long while at Molineux and I'm including ours under GON. Absolutely no fight in Spurs either, they're terrible.
Cunha was good when he came on and took his goal well. I thought he seemed to be more of a team player in his cameo, played some good passes when in the past might have been more greedy.
First time I've seen Munetsi in the flesh, Oh Marshal I really want to like you. No-one can question your attitude or effort but boy your skill level requires some work. Vitor clearly likes him and he obviously has attributes but few of them involve a ball. Quite slow in thought and action, gets knocked off the ball easier than I expected, pretty clumsy, passes found their target about 1 in 5. I really hope he improves.
Special mention for Santi, thought he played really well when he came on, made his tackles and blocks, plus actually put in a number of good passes. Think having someone like Agba next to him really helps.
Agba again really good, I'm choosing to forgive the miss hit pass and air shot.

Thought Sarabia put loads of effort in and worked hard closing down, not his best on the ball but a couple of good passes.
Think Gomes was knackered, seemed to me he was struggling a bit in the middle of the game after a heavy challenge in the .middle of the first half, didn't seem to be running freely, he obviously ran it off during the game but tired at the end.

From reports he was offered Agbadou and said no.
Yeah and I believe Lage rejected signing Vitinha too. Funny how these things leak out to make ex managers and not those above them look bad isn't it?

He does a lot of donkey work linking things together and generally being a body in the way of a potential pass. It's a real skill apparently! Things I like about him, he shows up, accepts responsibility, gives his best, makes good runs, and seems to have a fantastic attitude towards being a team player. We can all see his deficiencies but there is no disputing four wins and a draw from our last five games with him in the side. Results matter. And yes, give him a close season and hopefully his skill level will improve.... then we really might have a fantastic player. if Bellegarde can do it, I have faith in almost anyone in this squad.

Lage did do that though.

Like he fell out with Boly and sold him for a pittance, then alienated our club captain and ran him out of the club.

I get that there's spin at times but Occam's Razor is that rubbish managers do rubbish things.

If you don't think Bruno Lage was capable of some incredibly braindead shit, I have some news for you.

Financially it was all in our favour so if it wasn't him, who do you think it was?
