Wolves 2-1 Man City: Verdict Thread

Great win and props to O’Neil for getting the tactics right today.

Neto and Hwang have found a bit of form under him which isn’t a coincidence I don’t think. What’s that for Hwang now? Five goals?

Stick with a back three too. No reason we can’t still be an attacking threat with it as today exemplified.
Presuming the PL site updates in real time, Neto is tied for the Prem lead in Assists (4), while Hwang is tied for 4th in the Prem in Goals Scored (also 4).

He pushed one away low to his left in the second half, was a very good save. Nothing else really of note.

Wouldn't like to say on the FK without seeing it again, I will say it didn't look anything like a foul.
I think it was a foul to be fair. Blatant nudge in the back and Gomes should have known better really.

Also, how delicious that Nunes got taken off at half-time with Pep stating post-match he needed someone more dynamic and creative.

HA.

I think I read Hwang is 5th in the league for goals per 90 mins too.

Might just be an insane purple patch for the pair of them, but the attacking impetus does seem to have improved this season.

I ain't gonna look the gift horse in the mouth today!

I think a lot of scouts will probably see Neto as inconsistent and injury prone.

Like Neves and Jota before him, he's worth more to us than he would be to other clubs, IMV. We'll probably have to settle a bit if we sell him on.
Arteta wants him. Fortunately Arse have spent a fortune this Summer and hopefully have run out of cash.

Schooled by O'Neil. Pep should walk.

Really happy for him: reacted with tactical changes at the right time today, and subs. Easy to forget he’s an inexperienced manager and hopefully he has learned a lot today and gained some confidence from it.

I still have my doubts but I am properly chuffed for him.

Less that other clubs won't want him full stop, more that they won't want him for what he's actually worth to us. Just a hunch tbf.

Disagree. It wasn't blatant. Just another example of a player being knocked down by a feather and making the most of it. Naturally, the ref fell for it. I will say the Cunha decision was correct though.

Never been more happier for a one of our managers to shut me up. The most impressive thing was the response to the equaliser. Would’ve been easy to just settle for the point but we were really positive and got ahead.

I fully expected us to shut up shop, be happy with the draw and then go on to concede another two. So glad he didn’t do that as that has been our main downfall this season.

I feel we need a proper hate figure each week. We're good when we're fucking angry and bitter
There are way worse psychological tactics for a manager to employ tbh.

Fair play to GO, I think turning the conversation onto Nunes was something of a home run.

HA.

Thought he was a strange signing for them. Doesn't really fit with their style at all, think he'll end up like Kalvin Phillips.
