Wolves 2-1 Man City: Verdict Thread

Battling, determined performance. Nobody would have thought we could do that today, and seeing the defensive lineup the expectations at kick-off were as low as they could have been. However, we earned that win. I don't remember a particularly difficult save Sa had to make (though I missed the first 20 minutes of the 2nd half).

Semedo, Dawson and Neto were superb. Lemina and Gomes (J.) too and Traore did well when he came on. Hwang is a goal machine, always rated him... Need to keep those concentration levels up in every game.

Magnificent win. Let’s now keep the faith with this manager & his squad. Great to see Neto playing well & Hwang getting goals.

Criticism has been pretty fair, but today a lot of credit is deserved. Correct game plan, rode our luck which you need to against city.

Battled hard, everyone put in a good shift.

MOTM Dawson and Neto for me. Great to see Neto appearing fully fit and back to his best, and Dawson with arguably the two most important moments of the game in the Haaland challenge and the line clearance.

Big result, and hopefully that changes the course of direction now

As reported on the 'Match Day' thread, GON has won back the dressing room and the players have been reported as saying, "he's just a brilliant motivator!" and, "we love playing for him.". Now then, over to the Golf....

Gomes and Neto imperious. Nunes starting created the perfect atmosphere for a backs-to-the-wall performance. Some great counter attacking play. Ait Nouri and Semedo both defended well. Front three clicked well at times, and all put in an almighty shift. Can see us going to three at the back from now on.. not sure how I feel about that but let's enjoy the moment.

My heart is still racing.... did that really happen? Absolutely solid performance and City really didn't threaten a lot. So much so that I forgot Haaland was on the pitch. Well done GON, now you need to follow that up next week. A bit of breathing room now.

Fantastic. Every single player.

The one week a bottle the 2-1 wolves won on my pub predictor score

So much so that I forgot Haaland was on the pitch. ***
Dawson running over to stand in front of Sa to stop him playing out a quick ball....
Two really 'finger on it' moments...

*** Thanks to Squeak.

Great result for the players and manager, but most importantly, for the fans in the stadium, who have had little to cheer in a while!

Bloodying a big club's nose and getting some positive headlines for a change, and a few round of fucks for Nunes, lovely

Feel sorry for Hwang, who any other day would be MOTM - he’s really stepped it up this season in difficult circumstances. Delighted with how he’s been playing and have to say fair play; but Neto has to take MOTM. I just hope we don’t buckle when the bids/interest inevitably come in for him. He’s literally dragging us through games by himself, on occasions (not today as everyone chipped in).

RAN was excellent, as was Dawson & Gomes.

It’s just an odd feeling right now. I think 90% of the fanbase/football in general thought we’d get absolutely drubbed today - myself included - and it’s just peak Wolves to go and win it.

Massive three points, credit to GoN, but the big challenge is to now sustain those levels against other teams.

Well done all. I’m going to sink a few pints of Arbor ales this evening!

It'll be interesting to read Dan's version and everyone else who went to watch, and see how they match up against us lot who got their shit from wherever.
