I'll take 3 points and a train from Birmingham 91 minutes after it was due and only being able to get as far as Leeds due to other cancellations...
Trains were carnage weren't they! Was this the supposed 20.03 departure? I was only going back to Derby so gave up and got the rail replacement, I arrived back just as the 1903(!) was getting in at 10.
In the opening three games our opponents didn't play to their levels but found a way. We've done that today. We Leicestered, Leicester. Great result. We dug in and rode our luck at points and we had the moments of quality when it mattered.
We were generally loose in possession, sure there's the conditions to consider but Leicester played in the same conditions also so I don't think we should blindly play the deluge card and absolve all blame.
Think Donk did okay in the first 60 but he was blowing in the last 25 plus. Could have done with being able to sub him I think.
Game seemed to pass Joao by a bit, but you can't expect him to weave his art in those conditions,
or when coupled with coming back after a knock.
Raul tried but what he was doing in our WB position in the dying seconds where he effectively gave up expecting a foul and let the Leicester lad saunter to the byline was really poor stuff. Still trying to do too much on certain occasions too.
Coady, Podence and Saiss were the notable performers for me. Lookman looked dangerous and gave Somedo a hard time which I think unnerved Kilman a bit (moreso if he knew Steve Holland was watching) Sa did what was asked of him well.
Neves is overdue his goal v Leicester, Schmeichel has pulled off two or three top class saves from him so glad he git his goal today. Not so hot on his 9th booking. They'll be a huge hole at some point.
I thought Saiss handled it from where I was but after the hairline VAR decisions that Leicester have had in recent games with us its about time they felt it. Any supporter base that needs clappers and/or chants VAR can get fucked imo!
One thing to keep an eye on is goal kicks, the centre backs come right the way short and the midfield drop deeper and then there is this vast nothingness in the middle until you get to the forward 2/3. It just looks very odd.
Lovely goal by Leicester. If we can get that AM I'd be expecting us to be able to develop play with our WB's making the runs off the ball Albrighton did. Even with Neves/Moutinho playing higher up we were able to do similar for Podences first goal v Palace.
Lastly, how brilliant to see Pedro back. We could be on the verge of something special especially with a much stronger squad/options.
