Wolves 2-1 Leicester: Verdict Thread

From the footage sky showed looks as if he’s having to look round Raul IMO. As I’ve said glad it went our way
Nobody understands offside (or handball) anymore. at least in Subbuteo it is still straightforward.

Was it just me that noticed that Podence looked very, very close to being offside for our first goal? Yet they never stated it was being checked on the screens. I was sure it was gonna be ruled out!

There was a delay with the goal being confirmed on tv I think? Did look close but clearly he was inside otherwise it would’ve been a longer review

Jonathan Woodgate was pretty good on motd debut. Enjoyable and unexpected insights and analysis. Sancho for Liverpool will end up as a meme though

Not our best performance by quite a way, especially defensively, 2 really good goals.
Thought Podence was offside for our first but var checked and allowed it.
I'd have been apoplectic if handball had been given against Saiss, arm wasn't in an unusual position and it was about a yard away when hit.
Schmeichel had plenty view of the ball from Podence shot.
Thought Leicester were excellent at getting behind us but we managed to see it out.
Neto comeback cameo was extremely impressive.

I'll take 3 points and a train from Birmingham 91 minutes after it was due and only being able to get as far as Leeds due to other cancellations...

Trains were carnage weren't they! Was this the supposed 20.03 departure? I was only going back to Derby so gave up and got the rail replacement, I arrived back just as the 1903(!) was getting in at 10.

In the opening three games our opponents didn't play to their levels but found a way. We've done that today. We Leicestered, Leicester. Great result. We dug in and rode our luck at points and we had the moments of quality when it mattered.

We were generally loose in possession, sure there's the conditions to consider but Leicester played in the same conditions also so I don't think we should blindly play the deluge card and absolve all blame.

Think Donk did okay in the first 60 but he was blowing in the last 25 plus. Could have done with being able to sub him I think.

Game seemed to pass Joao by a bit, but you can't expect him to weave his art in those conditions, or when coupled with coming back after a knock.

Raul tried but what he was doing in our WB position in the dying seconds where he effectively gave up expecting a foul and let the Leicester lad saunter to the byline was really poor stuff. Still trying to do too much on certain occasions too.

Coady, Podence and Saiss were the notable performers for me. Lookman looked dangerous and gave Somedo a hard time which I think unnerved Kilman a bit (moreso if he knew Steve Holland was watching) Sa did what was asked of him well.

Neves is overdue his goal v Leicester, Schmeichel has pulled off two or three top class saves from him so glad he git his goal today. Not so hot on his 9th booking. They'll be a huge hole at some point.

I thought Saiss handled it from where I was but after the hairline VAR decisions that Leicester have had in recent games with us its about time they felt it. Any supporter base that needs clappers and/or chants VAR can get fucked imo!

One thing to keep an eye on is goal kicks, the centre backs come right the way short and the midfield drop deeper and then there is this vast nothingness in the middle until you get to the forward 2/3. It just looks very odd.

Lovely goal by Leicester. If we can get that AM I'd be expecting us to be able to develop play with our WB's making the runs off the ball Albrighton did. Even with Neves/Moutinho playing higher up we were able to do similar for Podences first goal v Palace.

Lastly, how brilliant to see Pedro back. We could be on the verge of something special especially with a much stronger squad/options.

I wish they would get rid of the bloodey goal music though. Didn’t we vote ages ago to get rid of that nonsense?
I bet the kids make a mess of your lawn, too. ;)

Think it was 12/13 we ditched it and most people thought it was good to do so. Not sure why it was brought back this season, I assumed they added the music back during the lockdown season just to cover up how quiet the stadium was but it's still here now. Takes away from the celebrations I agree.

This is unnecessary. I find it quite nice to see pictures that remind me of ALOB on the forum.

And also - if you don't like it, fine - but why post this? Just be nice or say nothing.
It was a genuine question.

You could've just said yes.
