Believe me, I'd rather write about positive stuff than negative stuff. There's still a way for us to go and I still don't see a team there that's going to absolutely destroy the league - in fact there'll probably be some frustration in certain parts that we don't batter teams, you'll see a lot more efficient 1-0s than 5-0 humpings - but signs are good.

You can only write about what you see, and for a long time it hasn't been pretty. There is once again a genuine mood of optimism that is based on fact, not embedded in some irrational heartfelt loyalty

Have to echo what others are saying re the highlights. If I hadn't listened or heard from people there, I would now be saying we were dominated by 'Boro, Ruben had a 95% pass INcompletion and we escaped a hiding by the skin of our teeth. Very odd. Did we upload the Boro highlights showreel by mistake?

To be fair Boro had the best chances, we didn't really look like we were going to score barring a calamitous piece of defending (which is what happened). It was a pretty even game and Boro really should have had a couple of goals but for some woeful finishing.

Oh it was an excellent save but in a one on one situation the striker really should be scoring, especially if you've just paid 15 million quid for him.

We all knew about the problem we have at the moment with lack of a strikeforce, however when Leo/Gallagher if he joins or whoever will have an abundance of chances from the riches we now have in midfield. Just a matter of time for me.

Neves - Saiss - Jota and Brighty all were magic. Brighty so much talent still to burst out, held the ball a little too long at times but will be a good good player in this team Im sure. And with Cav back next week and Costa in a month or so my god its surely the best midfield in the division.

Problem is a lot of our nice one/two touch passing came to nothing, so it makes sense they wouldn't make the highlights. That's why I want them to put up the full 90 minutes on the website so I can rewatch it.

I'm not too bothered about how highlights make us look to other fans. The longer teams/fans underestimate us the better.

Layo is the proper pronunciation, isn't it? Don't think there is a hard "e" in Portuguese.
