Wolves 1 Middlesbrough 0 - Verdict thread

To be fair Boro had the best chances, we didn't really look like we were going to score barring a calamitous piece of defending (which is what happened). It was a pretty even game and Boro really should have had a couple of goals but for some woeful finishing.

What about the definite penalty for the foul on Bright? Doesn't that count?

Definite pen but doesn't really count as a chance especially as Bright was going no where at the time.

Or the Bright chance forcing a decent save by Randolph.

Half chance at best, awful effort which no self respecting keeper should be beaten by. Had bright squared it then we would probably have had a second.

On that Bright chance to me it looks like he tried the pass to whoever was in the middle but the Boro defender sent it goalwards

Yeah it wasn't really a shot, ball got caught in behind him and being slightly off balance he just ended up prodding at the ball.

Watching it live I thought it was a really shit pass until the keeper dived for the save.

No it's Nevsshhhhzz.

Apparently.

I'll stick to Neves!

Problem is a lot of our nice one/two touch passing came to nothing, so it makes sense they wouldn't make the highlights. That's why I want them to put up the full 90 minutes on the website so I can rewatch it.

I'm not too bothered about how highlights make us look to other fans. The longer teams/fans underestimate us the better.

the second half break for Bonatini should have been shown imo. I was in the NB and first instinct was he should get an early shot away which he chose not to, but can't recall how far out he was.

there was also a passage of play resulting in a far post cross that I thought bright could have been on the end of had he anticipated. tbf, he was miles away from it so can understand them not showing it.

totally agree about being underestimated. happy for that whilst we're still getting it together especially

Did we have the sprinklers on before kick off? The ball looked like it was sticking to the grass rather than zipping off it especially for the cocked up pass that led to our goal

No but it was hammering down with rain most of the morning and then again at about 2pm.

We've just had a hybrid grass system layed, so maybe that needs time to bed in.

Unless it rained in the morning.

It was great standing in the London watching everybody outside get soaked.

during half time, it looked like one sprinkler was operating to right of half way line Billy Wright stand side

it would have to be a deluge of biblical proportions to match the volume the sprinklers put out. A lot of our incomplete passes in the highlights were on the ground and looked like they were under hit, which i suspect may not have been the case had they zipped off the usual wet zippy surface, I certainly think it had a hand in our goal.

We had about 3 biblical downpours between 9am and 2pm. During the last one a speedboat was witnessed going down Broad Street....

ha ha, i like that :) It's just the way it looks on the highlights. At the point you'd normally expect the ball to continue with it's momentum, it doesn't, it holds up which in the highlights effects us far more than 'Boro, but ends up costing them far more
