Wolves 1-4 Manchester United: Verdict Thread

Embarrassing from top to bottom. Can’t see how fans are going to keep turning up without being part of some sort of protest after that. We have to try to make some kind of difference and it can only have more impact if more fans are on board.

That second half reminded me of the Chelsea one under O’Neil. Get you right winger to stand 5 yards from Toti, not track back and when you get it he’s in every time short or long because Toti has no clue. Players are wank or most have given up but to end with a back 5 with Wolfe at left centre back is criminal. Think we might be worse than under Vitor.

Interested to know the opinion of anyone who opposed the protest. Heard one reaosn being “i want to support the team”, but then just sat there silently for 15 minutes?

Personally, while I'm in favour of protest against Fosun, I took a non-wolves supporting family friend to the game today so I wasn't going to force him to stand in the concourse for 15 minutes.

The Taiwan thing pisses me off as well. The people organising it need to distance themselves from that.

With the number of unwanted PL records Wolves are on track to break this season, we need to remember that Derby were promoted as play-off winners in 2006/07 ie they weren't coming off a strong base.

Note it was also Mick's first season in charge in 06/07 where he managed to get the club into the play-offs with one of the best Wolves managerial season performances I've witnessed.

Compare Derby to Wolves who are into their 7th consecutive PL season and it's simply mind-blowing the level of decline we have seen.

I cant recall any relegation of an established PL club (as much as it can be for a non-Sky team) to have fallen off a cliff to the degree we are witnessing with our club,

I keep asking on social media posts about wanting Fosun out, who’s buying us? And I just get abuse about not being a real supporter, I’d know if I was local ( wtf does that mean?) being a Fosun bitch ( again wtf?) and so on.
I don’t see a lot of billionaires casually strolling past the club on a regular basis, and tbh who’d want to buy a terrible team, crumbling stadium, in a scruffy town in the midlands.
Am I the only one wondering this?

Fans did their protest in absolutely the right way last night, no violence, visually effective for large audience to see.
The situation is gathering more headlines due to us not winning a game and our points total, that then puts the spotlight on the club even further.
The “we own the club fuck you” attitude from Fosun won’t last long.
Probably need more higher profile fans or ex players to call them out now to really get more spotlight on this.
The situation is a humiliation but it does make Jeff and Fosun look more stupid.
If we went down with 30 points or so they’re would be a lot people saying “that’s just the way things go”
This is proving the utter shit show they’ve overseen.

I think its beyond humiliation now, other fans and media can see what is going on and i dont think many are laughing. We will have a half empty stadium at the start of games come the new year. Every defeat, starting with this weekends inevitable demolition, is a further blow to FOSUN and in particular Shi, that's the only consolation left. All from the base given to them by the Mendes connection.

I was starting to think the unthinkable last night, we might be worse than under GON, still a shambles at the back at least we carried a goal threat. Then I remembered we had Semedo, RAN and Cunha to save myself from embarrassment.

Yep, there lies the issue.

I’m not going to go down the road of ‘it could be worse’ with a different set of owners. You should want and expect better than this mess.

But realistically, we aren’t a hugely attractive club I wouldn’t have thought?

Stadium crumbling, set in the midlands close to 3/4 other teams the same size or bigger. Our fan base will never be more than X, playing squad ripped of all its major assets.

Would be far more attractive if we were stable premier league - which we really should be after 6 seasons there, and hope some American consortium took as over which seems the fashion nowadays

What’s the owner of Spotify up to 😏🤞can’t have Arsenal should settle for wolves 😎

You could have said the same about Wrexham or Blues but they found a saviour.
At the moment I dont care who it is.

I don't think what goes on at Wolves affects Fosun at all. The only two people that could be affected are Guo and Shi. Guo will be embarrassed if he attends gamse but will be probably be more concerned about restoring his previous reputation as "China's Warren Buffett" than his reputation as a football club owner. Shi has obviously has a thick skin and is possibly well regarded in Fosun because he hasn't asked for any investment in the last few years (at the expense of decimating the team).

I suspect that Fosun won't want to sell Wolves even after we've been relegated as they will have to take a loss. (I would imagine the roughly 500 million that they have invested at Wolves is recorded as a 500 million asset in their books.) They are looking to sell a minority share as they know they can't invest directly and the club needs money to stay in the premier league. Selling a minority share would also give them something against which to justify their valuation of Wolves in their assets.(It already seems far too late for a cash injection to save us from going down.)

I have no optimism for the future, we'll be in a vicious cycle of dropping, selling to reduce costs, dropping again.

Clutching at straws, if Fosun were threatened with a major restructing by their creditors, they may have to sell Wolves and stomach the loss.

We are on the brink of being the worst team ever to play in the richest and highest profile league in the World. That will make headlines more than finnshing 12th for ten seasons in a row would have. They will be reported on as the organisation that allowed that to happen. It affects them alright. Otherwise why on earth would they have gone to the trouble of buying us in the first place?

So glad I stuck to my decision not to go. I didn't go partly to do my own little protest, and secondly I couldn't be arsed tbh. If they can't be arsed then neither can I.

PS, I also live next to a Villa fan and I squirm every match day when I have to walk past his window on the way home.

To curry favour with the Chinese government that were trying to establish China as a football world power.

I’m not even bothered about a saviour. They could loan it to me (or whoever) and run if at break even and we wouldn’t do this bad.

Just stop being useless cunts, stop outsourcing our kit to your dodgy conpany, stop using dodgy sponsors, stop wasting money, stop treating the fans with contempt.

If they did their job at 3/10 we’d probably still be staying up. They’ve managed to do it at 0/10. Either take it seriously or fuck off

First half wasn't convenient so didn't bother tuning in. Saw the score at halftime and read Bellegarde was our bright spark, so started watching the second half. 17 minutes in, the bright spark had gone off with a bad looking injury and we conceded two more, turned it off again.

Feel like this might be my commitment level for the rest of the season.

Just accept the recruitment has been shocking for years and bring in people with a proven track record of identifying talent. The other stuff about kits and sponsors is trivial by comparison.

That’s a fair thought but we can’t just let them run us into the ground. There isn’t anyone to buy us but by telling them we want them gone it’s showing how much they have failed. We need and want a dialogue with them but don’t think they have the minerals for it.

Like Punts just said, they just need someone to run the football club properly. They could have found someone to do that within the parameters that they’ve set but everyone they’ve appointed recently has been terrible. The money wasted from last January is bordering on £150m and anyone involved in that should not get another job in football as they obviously have no idea.
