Wolves 1-4 Brighton: Verdict Thread

I couldn't care less about results, this discussion has been had many times. I just like to watch entertaining football. Quick tempo, fairly direct and taking risks to force the issue, that's my preference.

I'd take yesterday's game as a spectacle over grinding out a 1-0 win with a single shot on goal. Everyone's got different motivations.
Why watch wolves then? Plenty of other games on yesterday where you could watch more entertaining teams.

Re: Nunes red card:

Having slept on it, yes it was ridiculous, petulant, stupid even idiotic.

He should be more disciplined and not let his teammates, coach and fans down. No excuses.

Having said that, it's probably frustration that led him to behave in such a way, it shows he cares even if those emotions have manifested themselves in the wrong way. It's up to him to harness that energy and use it in the right way.

Really?

Still haven’t seen anything other than the sky 3 min highlights so I can’t really comment on the game as a whole, whether GON is tactically inept, whether we missed loads of chances or Brighton were just superior, but football is a results business end of the day.

You get fuck all for playing well/exciting football and getting 0 points. The thrill of that will wear off quite quickly. Most teams , actually all teams (big teams to a lesser extent) can’t play the same way all the time and expect results.

You need your fair share of grubby wins in there. We’re not in a position to turn our noses up at a shitty 1-0 win

Can show you care in lots of other ways though. He is now suspended for Everton, which Ofcourse if a massive game for us.

I never said you couldn't show you care in other ways.

I even said it was stupid, idiotic, petulant and ridiculous.

I don't understand how you've picked an argument out of what I said.

I really haven’t picked an argument with you at all? Just stating the ‘it shows he cares’ I don’t agree with really. No argument here, just a different opinion?

they really do… the little touch on Netos shoulder from Sa makes me think he took the brunt of it.
Didn’t look earlier as it all sounds too unlikely. Just watched now and, whatever happened, it’s a terrible look compounded by the way we then capitulated in the following 10 mins. Clearly we need to see something in the next two games to challenge the pretty obvious worry that we got well drilled and set up by the previous coach for a big game and things are being managed downwards from there. It needn’t be that, but it’s a fair concern given the mismanagement at the top.

Something to talk to my dad about. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yesterday was a good game for a neutral anyway, two teams playing high tempo, front foot football, what's not to like? Obviously the result puts a downer on it for someone invested in Wolves but if you just want some cheap thrills watching two teams go at it then it was great.

Really.

Someone will know, probably Dan, when was the last time we went a goal down in the Premier League at Molineux and came back to win?

Ironically Brighton in Nuno's last season would be my guess. The one where MGW scored late on. Not a fan of including the Covid season in any stats though

Had a feeling it wasn’t gonna be post Nuno.

It is this. Weirdly, both of our away wins last year were from a losing position and we did also have the freak Lage result at Villa.
