Wolves 1 - 2 Liverpool Verdict Thread

The next step at the moment is winning the ‘easier’ games more consistently, turning those draws into wins. Main problem is going behind every week tbh!

Absolutely: that was a fantastic game to watch, but the "next stage" is to clinically dispose of the Brightons, Newcastles and West Hams of the world on a regular basis

That's what gets you the points on the board for the third place finish even if City and Liverpool are ahead. There is a run of games coming up soon where we can have a go at that theory. Obvs too far back for a third this season, but if we can use them to nail a fourth, then that is showing we are getting really REALLY good. I would also be happy if we end up with a sixth out of this!

We play on 'the counter', I keep telling myself that is why we don't perform against the lower teams, because they stick bodies behind the ball and let us have possession, but there is always the nagging doubt that we are 'big time Charlies'.
We need to find more ways to score that is my conclusion.
Free kicks, corners, long range shots, ugly goals...
More contribution with goals from other players and areas.

Noticeable that Liverpool were dropping more bodies back into defence when we had possession yesterday than I have seen them do against anyone else - we needed to move the ball forward quicker than we did a lot of the time to arrive before the got fully set.

I really don’t get these “Premier League” stats. It’s as if there’s an agenda to erase records and history. In their day, Leeds, Wolves, Forest, Ipswich and Villa were good teams and the “well it wasn’t the Premier League” is just nonsense

love the red and white kop, he's talking about the stats that ignore the pre premier league. note Villa last!! he doesn't remember they won the European Cup in 1982
my big brother is a Villa fan he'd put him right

Why would a Liverpool fan ignore pre-premier league?

20-19 titles against United is going to sound a lot better than 13-1

I used to loathe Liverpool in my youth as they won everything now I'm glad they are gonna win the league, they better make the most of it before we start winning everything
