Wolves 1 - 1 Nottingham Forest - the verdict thread

Wolves should play attacking football..its just in our blood..come on, give it a go KJ instead of trying to save a point..bloody hell, boring and we can do so much better

Cyber - as it stands your wish is for us to attract a billionaire to financially dope us until we reach the Premier League, then let him take his money back out. It's the realm of absolute fantasy which is why no-one gives it any credence, it won't happen. It isn't for other people to come up with "better" because you aren't putting forward a reasonable case.

As it is, we have a manager who is grossly underperforming with the tools at his disposal. He hamstrings the team with negative tactics and terrible selections. The buck stops with him at the moment, irrespective of finance. You don't need £20m+ a year to not play Dave Edwards every week. You don't need any money to do better than that, we have better options in the current squad.

Oh for gods sake you u 2 its some kind of bromance. My ideas may have flaws but they are an improvement on the shocking shite at home this season. I respect you both but if a new owner comes along with a decent offer we would be better off than we are now. We are going no-where but backwards. Guys Ill buy you drinks if i am wrong

Has Graham replaced Sako? I suspect we miss the understanding that Sako, Dicko and Afobe had. Think they call it the sum of the parts. The replace Sako mantra was a myth. It wasn't millions on players it was an ability to spot/develop an understanding in the final third.

What are you talking about? I want us to get a new owner, I don't want us drifting along under someone who doesn't even want to be here. It just won't happen the way you think it should, no-one in the world will do that.

I agree with you Deutsch, we are so negative that we invite are own demise match after match. The team is massively falling short of its potential. I actually dread going to watch at the moment.

Not had the advantage of seeing any replays, but a few thoughts:
Golbourne had his best game for a year or so.
2 centre mids had a good game
Centre halves were wobbly, Batth lucky to get away with the offside goal in the first half, EEL skinned a couple of times
Graham should have started the season, I don't buy this he went to Oxford and has grown bollocks
The game was crying out for a proper number 10, one that could pick a pass in tight situations, we don't have one or at least don't play him if we do. We should have gone 442 for the last 3 games, but if we must play 4411 then give Wallace a go, he couldn't possible be less effective than Edwards was tonight. Unless ALF was injured , which he didn't seem to be, then the sub when it did come was absolute bollocks
Subs should have been made 15/20 minutes before Forest scored. Graham who'd faded and Edwards off Afobe and Byrne on.
What is the point of Grant Holt bring here? We defended deeper and deeper and Ikeme hoofed more and more. Different keeper, but exactly the same as against Derby, hoof it towards ALF who'll lose it to the centre half that is half a foot taller than him. If we are going to do it then at least put a lump on to target. What is the plan when we do that, hope to pick up the second ball after their bloke has headed back?
The ball for their goal cannot travel that far and be volleyed in, it just can't. Awful defending, don't know if Ikeme should have come or whether it was slack marking

Henry + Iorfa on the right and Graham + Golbourne on the left did well, for me.
Price + McDonald were fine.
I felt sorry for ALF who chased everything but had nothing to work with in their area at all.

The centre backs let their main ariel threat stand free by himself for two corners in the first 15 minutes and then we switch off again from a dead ball in the second half to allow them back in the game - not good enough from the central defensive pairing IMO.

Everyone in the ground could see Edwards was a) shattered and b) offering absolutely no threat at all - so why weren't the changes made earlier?

Graham had been fantastic all game but was tiring towards the end and their full back was starting to get the better of him - so what's wrong with giving Byrne a run out? KJ seems scared to make changes at the moment.

I've got to say, I don't think the game was as bad as some are making out - I've seen a lot worse - but as I said in the comm thread, we've thrown two points away because Forest hadn't bothered our goal for about an hour before they scored and with a little bit of positivity, we could have killed them off.

It was miles better than say, Brentford or MK Dons. Or the first 70 minutes vs Charlton, or the final 50 minutes vs QPR. That's no real defence though, it's like ranking Danny Dyer's acting performances.

It was better but still below most of the home form of last year. Sorry. I cant get thrilled by that

I've had time to reflect on our performance and I'm amazed that anyone can think it was 'OK'. It really isn't.

We're playing a team that are languishing at the wrong end of the table, a team that have lost their last 5 away and we start with one forward at home? Bizarre.

We have a midfield pair that are known for their passing game yet we choose to bypass them with continual hoofballs to a 5'9 striker? Weird.

We decide to defend a one goal lead at home to a team there for the taking, inviting pressure and inevitably leading to an equaliser. Awful.

So then we're chasing a goal and we choose to take off a forward rather than a woefully ineffective midfielder wonderfully compared to Paula Radcliffe in this thread? Pathetic.

Start playing our best players in a system that suits them. We've all seen us do it before so why not do it now? I know we've lost Sako and Dicko but why completely change our footballing philosophy of last season, one that would still suit the players we have? It doesn't make any sense.

It really shouldn't be this fucking difficult.

The most frustrating thing the last three home draws were all very winnable with abut more positivity and we'd be sat in 6th place right now.
Struggling to understand if we persist with 4/3/2/1 why he doesn't try Adobe behind ALF.
Yet again we back up a good result with dropped points.

Well, I was out last night so I've just watched it. Difficult to disagree with much of what has been said above. Jackett is just clueless. Beyond clueless. Sacking him is the only option at the moment.

As several people have said, how in God's name was Jordan Graham our 8th choice on the left wing? what the hell does Jackett see on the training ground. Man of the Match by a country mile. And how many attacks end with Edwards and Henry? Edwards is just hopeless and Henry's crossing is... well, it's all been said before. How many chances did Wolves create in open play? Almost none, but it's hardly surprising with a right winger and a no 10 who simply don't function. And I like ALF, but how can you possibly prefer him to Afobe? That's like me choosing the fat bag next door over Nicole Kidman.

Substitutions? Should have been made around the 60th minute. You're fucking inept, Ken.

We have a squad - even without Dicko - capable of challenging for the play offs. The manager has turned us into mid table shite and he has to go

If you allow Michael Mancienne an armchair ride your gameplan as a coach is seriously flawed. Even Grant Holt used correctly would have caused massive problems to that Forest defence.

Sadly, poor, simple Ken has become the football equivalent of the old business cliche: if you always do what you've always done then you'll always get what you've always got

I don't think Ken has though has he, he seems like a bloke who has completely withdrawn into his shell and is trying to remove all element of risk.

Two under performing sides with no-one prepared to have a run at people. Your defence is there for the taking by someone with the confidence to pile through. Wolves goal was soft and so was ours. Only Osbourn and Vaughan up for it for us. O'Grady desperately slow for this league.

Really enjoyed that 5 minutes or so where the South Bank was bouncing. True support, but flashlight phones? Seriously? It looked like the audience for a Daniel O'Donnell concert from our perspective. And no, I'm not the wanker in the blue but we enjoyed that abuse too.

Unbeaten in three. COYR!

I thought Vaughan for you stepped up his game second half and showed his experience. I didn't think he would have that much left in his locker.
