Wolves 1-0 Burnley: Verdict Thread

Just seen the goal. Lovely little hesitation to off balance the defender before calmly slotting it away.
He’s a brilliantly intelligent footballer, IMO. It’s just a shame he doesn’t always have the body coordination to match!

Could also do with less pathetic attempts to buy fouls when we need him to hold up.

Very pleased to see Sarabia getting more game time, would've been some goal of that left foot flick had found the back of the net

It’s the entire bloody thread! If you can’t see it is ruinous the. You are blind
Why are you reading the thread when you've live televisual delights courtesy of Optus?

Didn't go to the game as had tickets for Clinton Baptiste, luckily as a Wolves fan he was getting score updates from Jack Hayward so kept us updated 😃
Didn't he tell you the final score before the game kicked off?

Bloody fraud...

A few of them were tired according to Gazza:

“Some of the boys looked tired today. I think if you compare the two games at the weekend, where Burnley win comfortably and play the second half again ten men, and we’re forced to go to the 98th minute flat out to try and get an equaliser, you could see it. Channy maybe wasn’t as sharp as he has been, fantastic goal, but he looked a bit tired, Hugo got cramp, so for the boys to run through that and keep going was a big effort."

Yeah, Gary’s got to figure out his subs. Way too many whiffs this season.

We don't have options elsewhere in the squad though. Who are you replacing Hwang or Cunha with unless it's a defensive move? Sasa and Fabio aren't viable alternatives given the way we want to play. It needs to come with a change of style, we saw against Fulham what happens if you just put Sasa through the middle but don't play to his strengths. For me that's an issue GON needs to overcome at least in the short term

Sasa would've been an alternative as at least he can hold the ball up. Hwang was woeful at this tonight.

We are a body light out wide but I would've brought Chirewa on as Cunha was running on empty.

GoN's subs were very poor tonight. Something he's really struggled with so far.

Only the second clean sheet of the season and Hugo Bueno has started both of them (Everton A, Burnley H). And from only three starts in the league this season.

Be 3 out of 3 with Cresswell 😉

Interesting comments on the Burnley forums, a lot seemed surprised how many units we have. Are we that big/ tall?? I always think that about Palace & Brentford.

Try making a sub then Gazza FFS

He replaced Sarabia with Bellegarde, I'm struggling to see who he brings on for Hwang or Cunha. Fabio and Sasa just aren't up to it. He maybe could have brought Bouba on earlier, any other options would have left us worse off than keeping the tired guys on I guess.

I would have taken Gomes off for Bouba or Doyle I think as I thought he had a proper stinker. Wasn’t making himself available for the ball and when he did he didn’t do much with it. Saying that in general his defensive work was good. Lemina was immense again, he gets everywhere - him and Semedo felt like the only two trying to make things happen at times.

Second half was comfortable but some of our attacking play was bizarre - like we were actively trying to not have a shot.
