Decent going forwards but suffered badly from a makeshift defence, a lack of Andre helping Gomes out, and Cunha's guile in attack. We'll be better than this in the next few weeks for sure. 5 out of 11 first choice players missing and RAN playing CB was never going to go well tonight.

Second half was very huff and puff but not enough quality in the final third apart from JSL.

I liked the look of Lima, he looks a good addition and gives us a decent option if Semedo needs a rest.

First half I thought we were excellent going forward. Given the players we had starting in defence, we were always going to give up chances & we all know MGW & Wood love a goal v us. That said, plenty of positives from the first half, regardless of scoreline.

Second half the game drifted from us. You know Nuno is going to have them close the game out professionally. As I said in the matchday thread, I like that Vítor is happy to use/trust his squad - but we need to give him better tools than what he had available tonight.

Convinced Lemina & Sarabia are off after that. Wish someone would offer us a fiver for Bellegarde.

Sign a defender on top of Agbadou.
Midfielder to replace Lemina - Doyle just cannot be relied on
And a winger with some quality.
I agree.

But we're not going to do all that, we'll do the absolute bare minimum and probably sell someone just to weaken an area for a couple of quid.

No idea how Forest are where they are after watching that. Plenty of good chances missed and if one goes in it's a different game. Forest are significantly over achieving based on their performances. Remind me of Newcastle under Pardew when they randomly finished 6th - their chance conversion was freakishly high.

With 7 players out we had no right to be in the game never mind be the better team. Onwards and upwards.

I think we will sign a midfielder to replace Lemina, we have to really. And VP clearly wants a wide defender. Well probably get by with the current forward choices I guess

To be fair they don't usually concede chances like they did in first half. Second half they were in complete control. They got a bit of luck in the first half for sure but teams at the top tend to do just that.

If all of JSL, Cunha and Hwang can stay fit we should have plenty of goals up front.

It's just those on the bench behind them that needs addressing.

Let's start with the positives:

1) A welcome reality check for the owners. No we won't be alright by default. We have too much crap that gets on the pitch regularly. Sign some players, one CH from Ligue Un does not cover everything

2) We did actually play quite well for a fair chunk of it. It's never a 3-0 game. But we've seen this film before. It's Nuno, it's what he does, it's what we revelled in. And we threw it away. Thanks Jeff.

Sa: Conceded three, never had a prayer with any of them, had literally nothing else to do.

Doherty: This is why you can't pick him. He couldn't turn 10 years ago. He couldn't defend 10 years ago. He can't now. Pathetic on the second goal.

Bueno: This guy is fucking SHIT. I'm 44 soon and I'm quicker than him. Stronger too. Pathetic on the first goal.

Ait-Nouri: Did alright in an unfamiliar role, wouldn't repeat the experiment though.

Lima: Hung out to dry at times by the feckless shitbeak playing to his left. Looked good on the ball. Wouldn't have hooked him.

R Gomes: Bright again, definitely has some quality about him, could still do with a decent steak meal or two.

J Gomes: Scrapped hard, on his own at times.

Doyle: Can't play in a two, another who's alarming slow and weak for Premier League football. Yes he has a nice touch and can pass a ball, but so could Simon Osborn.

Guedes: You either get 7/10 out of him or 1/10. Guess which one it was today.

Hwang: Standard Hwang if he doesn't score - he looks like he doesn't belong.

Strand Larsen: Tried hard but HAS to score at least one of the first half chances. Then it's a different game.

Subs: I don't like any of them (including the version of Lemina we've had for about 9 months now) so I won't even try to say something nice.

Tough run coming up, I have faith in the manager, but there's a lot to do.

Woefully short of quality. They weren’t good but they scored early and it didn’t matter. We should have equalised but didn’t and the rest is history.

When your best players are missing you need players like Guedes to step up. He was horrific. Hwang was obviously horrific. Doyle out of his depth and then a couple of kids at WB who looked OK at times. Sarabia,
Bellegarde Lemina and Forbs would struggle to get 1/10 combined.

The positive is it highlights how bad this squad is when you take a couple of players out the first XI

Negatives: Hwang, Guedes, and Bellegarde were all awful today. Doyle was weak in midfield. Lemina and Sarabia both poor off the bench, and we badly need some defenders because the Doherty experiment was properly exposed today. RAN spent most of the game unsure about where he was meant to be defending and that can't be allowed to happen again.

Positives: there's a sense of some structure and tactics at last. Despite the scoreline, we looked good for long spells. Lima and in particular Rodrigo looked very lively and on a different day, JSL could have had 2 or 3.

We've some very, very tough fixtures coming up. It'll be touch and go for the rest of the season I think.

The score could have been anything tonight, from 0 0 to 4 4!

A typical Nuno performance, we've been picked apart while not taking our chances.

I'm not too downbeat, plenty of positives and glaring holes visible in the squad for all to see.

We've 25 days to balance the squad, so let's get it fucking done. And as always, Shi(t) out!

That must be up there with the worst Premier League XI's we've picked, certainly in the Fosun era.

I was pleasantly surprised by the performance. I expected to lose 3-0 but without laying a glove on them.

Larsen can't miss those chances. Doherty's defending was inexplicable for the second goal. Bueno got bullied all night.

But positives from Lima and Gomes, and we didn't play that badly.

For sure a better performance under vic with half a team, than we would have got anywhere near with Gon.
A touch more luck for strand who had a great game, and plaudits to the kids who were excellent.
Now for me, i would sell...
Ran, before people cotton on he's a star ballerina,
Lemina @ heads gone,
sarabia, bellegarde, Forbs, not up to it, even doyle if a half decent offer came in for him
And hwang.
I would buy, Ababadoo, (close)
Another centre half, a left back, and a new winger. And midfielder.
Ok jeff over to you, you stingy twat.
