Basically I think he has 18 games to prove why he should keep his job, and he's lucky to have that. If he can't marry actual attacking with not playing 8-1-1 then he should go. Well he should go anyway, but you know.

I think he's past that unfortunately.
I think he knows he's relatively safe until a new owner comes on board. Akin to a player who has no under-study, therefore their place isn't under threat.

I do wonder wtf has changed since May though. The style an quality of football have regressed too much.

I agree with you, the one thing we can't accuse the club of here is panic buying. Williamson has already played for us and Mason was chased in the summer. Neither are good enough to take us remotely close to the play-offs mind you but then that is a failing of the recruitment staff and the limitations of a manager who is bottom half of the championship material.

If you try to buy several players in January and aren't able to land any of them, so you go back to someone you tried to buy last year, and pay double. You could say we are panicking.

I would be really pleased if we went in for Kemar Roofe. Although he is kind of a "number 10" but according to KJ than type of player is everyone! He signed Leon Clarke with every intention of him playing that role which smacks of delusional.

I like Roofe but given we never use Byrne and Wallace I have no faith in us getting any use out of him under this manager. Those two were amongst the hottest lower league talents and we just never play them.

I think Deslandes is exactly the sort of player who should be given a go during the run in. He's certainly a bit raw and erratic, but maybe having Williamson's experience beside him might help his game? It's an ideal time to give him a chance and I can't see how he could be a worse option than Doherty.
