What are you currently listening to....

I've just started a 3 month Spotify premium trial so may well give them a listen. Especially as you have helpfully listed their albums from best to worst.

I think I've got my own particular Queen playlist on Spotify actually. It's a good mix of their older and newer stuff. I'll find you the link.

I've downloaded it, thanks.

I'm always on the look out for new (or old as the case may be) music to listen to. If anybody has any suggestions or playlists to recommend listening to then let me know. You generally know the kind of stuff I like.

Spotify is brilliant for that - they always manage to add something decent to my 'weekly recommended' playlist.

Been listening to the Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott album this week which is great. The Austerity Of Love is a brilliant tune! It even has a bit of organ reminiscent of The Liquidator at the start.

I've had a trial of Google Play (the free trial came with my phone) and now I'm trying Spotify. Spotify seems far superior just for the recommendations and related artists. Although, I do seem to have only listened to what's probably described as 'Indie Folk' so far so all my recommendations reflect that.

Yeah obvs the more you use it, the more diverse the recommendations are.

Like a fool, I allowed my better half to choose some songs a few weeks ago when she came over with a few mates. So now I'm getting shitty early 90's dance tracks 'recommended' to me every so often.

What do the cool kids call it then? Streaming?

They do.

You only need to download stuff in the sense of making tracks available offline so you can listen to them while you're out and about without a WiFi signal and eating into your data allowance. Don't really need to bother with that if you have tons of data a month, I generally have one of my own playlists saved and maybe one album, needless to eat up space on my phone with any more than that. As with all the subscription streaming services those 'downloaded' tracks are only usable while you're an active paying member.

Well you can actually download stuff for offline listening, but yeah, get with the times beardo.

I'll probably download some to listen to on the plane when I go on holiday but otherwise I won't bother. I'm usually on WiFi and have a nice, sizeable data allowance. Spotify is awesome.

I've been listening to some Chas & Dave for the nostalgia. I used to have one of their LPs in my parents vinyl collection and listened to it when I was younger.

The bass player was a bloody good musician. I believe it was him that died a few years ago.

Their tunes are still good fun as well. Especially stuff like Poor Old Mr Woogie, Margate, Sideboard Song and Ain't No Pleasing You.

I'm giving Yo La Tengo a try today.

Really good band - I heard them at Glastonbury about 10 years ago but never did get chance to find some of their albums and give them a listen. I'm really enjoying them.

Good man. Excellent band.

I'm listening to 'Prisoners of Love' which I assume is basically their greatest hits album?
