Welcome to Wolves Ruben Neves

Amazed we have kept in for 5 seasons, thought would get 2, possibly 3 best case before one of the champion league clubs came in for him

I think because he so often gets the assist for the assist he goes under the radar

That would have been a much better video if there wasn't two or three replays of the first two clips at the start. The rest of it flowed much better.

I remember thinking when he signed, that I would be happy if we just got two seasons minimum from him!

Remember that unveiling video. Still get goosebumps!

COVID weirdness notwithstanding, did anyone expect we’d get (at least) six seasons with him? I sure didn’t.

I'm surprised that a serious offer has never materialised. The amount of times he has oozed class and dominated games against higher ranked opponents yet from what I can recall there has not been much in the way of rumours of him leaving to join one of the sky six.

I guess because he's never been a regular scorer/assister? It's the only thing I can think. His underlying numbers are generally pretty high but his "creative" stats... not so much.

Means he lives in a statistical no-man's land where he's seen as solid but not vicious enough to be a true ball-winner and but equally not creative enough to consistently affect his side's goal scoring record.

That's not to say he's poor, obviously, nor that I agree with the above statement.

I was surprised Pep went for Philips rather than Neves in the summer.

He seems perfect for City.

This is why stats are bollocks.

What you've said is all well and good but frankly a load of crap in the context of the actual game of football.

Pre-Casemiro/Eriksen, he'd have walked into any Manchester United midfield since 2017. With the amount of money they hoy at absolute shite, it's so weird they never went for him. Glad they didn't though.
