Welcome to Wolves Matheus Cunha

I still think he's trying to do everything, and it's taking away a little of his effectiveness.
Anyone playing alongside Hwang will feel compelled to do more than normal to compensate for the output of a statue.

I think this with some parts of his game. His corners are really irritating currently. Although we have got two goals from them etc.

Was good to see his work rate today tracking back which has usually been a weakness in his game

Probably been told that he won't get a transfer to a "big" club if he doesn't show he can do some defensive work. Personally, I still think he's overrated. Sure, a stand out in our very average team but he infuriates me at times when he doesn't do the simple thing.

I feel like we’ve been super lucky to witness a few beautiful players of the last few years.

Ten years ago I never dreamed that we’d see the quality we have from the likes of Jota, Jimenez, Moutinho, Neves, Neto and now Cunha.

Although I think Cunha is worthy of a mention in the same bracket as these others, I think he falls slightly short of the quality we’ve seen from Neves, for example.

Might just look a little better than he is because of the team he’s playing in.

One of only 2 good things that came out of the Lopetegui appointment.

He’s clearly very good, but I don’t think 65m is absurdly low like some do. Seems a fair deal especially if it keeps his here for the rest of season and keeps us up.

Shame it’s the tail wagging the dog but that’s football nowadays

Regarding the 65m, few seem to mention that there is still a significant chance of us going down. 65million if we go down is a great fee.

That's why the release fee is lower than expected?

He's playing for a move now. He'll know there will be suitors in the PL (or abroad) for him in the summer - but he'll also be aware that if he sulks around for the next three months, putting in below par performances which in turn see us go down, the story may be different.

From a Wolves perspective, whilst all the power was in Cunha's side of the court during the window, it's a win/win for the club. Play well, keep us up, get your move and we make a little profit on top.

It's sad that his attitude/performance literally flipped overnight, but I guess that's what modern day football is like. I just hope the club have already got a replacement lined up.

I took it as we stay up the release clause is £65m.

We go down it will be a lot less and around the fee rumoured last month.
