Welcome to Wolves Angel Gomes

Mystery solved and how we got him. He loves our Rob

Great stuff, excited about this one. As with Armstrong, happy to sign a couple of players that we've actually heard of.

Interesting reading of his connection with RE and that they've been communicating for a couple of weeks

I'm excited, this is the standard of signings we thought were possible but never did when we instead paid overs for international dross.

I'm keen to see how he fits in the XI, hopefully not at the expense of Mane. One of the elephants on the room is how, despite Andre and Joao being our two best players, they can't seem to work together creatively and no attacking output.

Someone more knowledgeable than me could probably break down the technical differences of how they work together as a double pivot compared to the Nunes/Moutinho era, but the tl;dr is it hasn't worked, like a lot this season.

7m vs whatever the heck we paid for Munetsi is interesting.

Hopefully means we can switch to a back 4.

Something like that with fluidity between the front players. A few of the other squad options wouldn’t look quite as bad in that shape. For example - if you had to play Jackson or Wolfe in a back 4, they could probably do it. Likewise you could play Bellegarde or Arias ahead of Rodrigo. The main issue would be as/when we need to rest or replace Tolu - because we don’t have anyone else in the squad who can offer what he does. You’d end up having to shoe-horn Hwang up there - or Armstrong, who can probably fit in Tolu’s pocket.

I’m not expecting Angel to start soon, though. He hasn’t started a game since November apparently so not sure how matchfit he is.
