Watford v Wolves (A) - 01/01/20 Buildup and Matchday thread...

Ah, bugger.

If we’d have played like the last 30 minutes over the 90, we might have got something out of that.

You can't keep giving any premier team a headstart and hope to get points.

Poor today from Doc, Moutinho, Dendonker.

Pearson was made foir these cunts.

Really poor. A game we lost that we should have won where we have no-one to blame but ourselves.

Need to change up Mouthinos set pieces for me, we did those 2 nice set pieces this season... Need more of that sort of ingenuity or change the taker.

Watford are a team full of a bunch of absolute shithawks. From their point of view, it’s job done & they take the three points. Once again the referee fell for every trick in the book.

Eventually it was going to catch up with us, going behind so many times - you can’t keep doing that. The Christmas schedule hasn’t helped us either.

That said, for all the praise we have received recently - we could end the game week below Crystal Palace.

Well that was shit :icon_lol:

Hopefully the perfect pre-window performance to show we need more quality in if we're to finish in the top 7.

I agree, cant stand Pearson... has the look of a big headed smug cunt.

And we have a fresh striker on the bench but still..

This game highlights how thin our squad is . . . until we can regularly get results (wins) against such teams, then we're kidding ourselves if we think we can crack the top 4.

Apparently a Prem table based on just the first half has us bottom. WE have to sort this out - simply cannot go on and on giving teams a goal start

Dooooomed, we’re all doooooooomed.

We look tired, we have played more than Watford and more recently too. That’s all. Bit of a rest now for our main players.

You think? Can't imagine we'll be less than full strength on Saturday..

Disappointing result when Chelsea and Spurs have both dropped points today. Sluggish first half, picked up a lot in the 2nd but honestly after the sending off we didn't really carve them open at all, we were just putting in cross after cross where Raul was on his own 80% of the time. Felt maybe we were rushing (by our own standards)

For me it highlights we need a new CM to rotate more than a CB. Don't have confidence in Donck playing there, he just doesn't do enough. We need to replace Moutinho long term anyway so I'd hope we're thinking along those lines as it's going to take real quality to replace his all round play (though his set pieces really have been below par the last few games for some reason). You can't have those kind of brainfarts that Donck had today and play CM for a (potential) top 6 side.

When we're aggressive and go at teams we're very hard to live with, not sure we've got the energy to do it right now though. Maybe once we get past this weekend and the players start getting more than 2-3 days' rest we'll see a difference.

You missed out Jimenez, who was awful today

This. They're always such soft goals too. We're a good team who sometimes look so slack.

Think we will go fairly strong as we have seven days til the next game after. But Vinagre, Kilman/Bennett will get games too.

That's how Nuno manages games when we have a heavy schedule. Not to go behind obviously but to contain and conserve energy in the first half and take the game to them in the second. It's not a coincidence. Concede a soft goal and it damages the game plan.

Ironic we get a VAR decision in a game where ultimately it didn't matter.
