Another thing . . . whether or not Neves was the best ever Wolves goal, I would argue this season has seen more outstanding Wolves goals than ever before.

Impossible to quantify I know but I’ve seen nothing like it in 50 years.

Definitely pushing Dave Wagstaffe's against Arsenal on 20 November 1971.

Remember that, brilliant goal. 6 months before Ruben was born!

Sad that 2 players from that game (Richards and Wilkins) are no longer with us

Cheers for making me feel old as I wander into work Lupo! I was sat behind the goal Dichio scored in!

I must have watched the Neves strike about 30 times, it was sublime!

Yes, very sad regarding the players who have passed on.

I actually cant believe that happened. What a fucking goal!

I was there for that one! It was a cracker (in the snow if I remember correctly), and wasn't Bob Wilson in goal for Arsenal that day?
Indeed, it started snowing during the second half IIRC. I stood in the North Bank that afternoon. Our second from Kenny Hibbitt was special too. Arsenal had won the double the previous season.

Thanks to Darlo. I can say I was there to see the best Wolves goal I've ever seen in a wolves shirt!
Absolutely stunning especially how high the ball went and dipped right at the end. Still buzzing from last night's game and it was nice to see some of you guys also!

It overtakes Kennedy against Newcastle in the cup as my favourite and bestest Wolves goal of my lifetime.

Yep when I was lying in bed thinking about it last night, (sign of middle age and married life when that's now the first thing that jumps into your head when lying in bed) that was the one that sprung into my mind, along with SEB's at Charlton and David Kelly's diving header v Leicester in the cup, but last night beats them hands down

Yes, no question.

People at work who don't even like football are talking about THAT goal from last night...

Best goal by one of the best midfielders we have ever had. Only just tops Alex Raes goal against Bolton!

Certainly the best strike of a ball I've ever seen from a Wolves player. Yes, there have been some screamers in the past, but the difference with Ruben is that he hits not with hope but intent. He knows exactly what he wants the ball to do – and it usually does it.

Its the first touch that makes it. Its one thing to control a ball coming out of the box, but to do it in a way that tees it up for a volley is incredible.

A mistake according to Alan!

The first touch wasn't especially brilliant, it's how he adjusted to it going slightly away from him that makes it incredible!

Definitely got away from him a bit on that first touch, the idea was intentional but the execution not flawless, he managed to sort himself out with a bit of a footwork though and keep the ball in front of him so he could still get the shot off cleanly.

As someone said the Dichio goal was up untill then the best I've witnessed topped off by the Osbourn freekick for a draw
