It needs a thread. It was that good.

I've always loved SEB's goal at The Valley but I think tonight's effort has topped it.

Can any other Wolves goal top it?

I was busy at work and missed the game, just saw the highlights and literally came in to find somewhere to post:

holy shit what a great goal!! someone put down the FIFA controller.

As soon as it went in I said that I think its the best goal I've ever seen live.

Franksy asked on WM tonight if Grealish's goal last night was the greatest by any Midlands player this season. I already thought no, we had scored better. Then came that tonight...!

It overtakes Kennedy against Newcastle in the cup as my favourite and bestest Wolves goal of my lifetime.

I loved Kennedy's goal in the Play Off Final, the way he had to adjust to the ball coming towards him and drill it low into the corner but I'm sorry Mark, take a back seat as Ruben has just outdone you!

Best Wolves goal on video - Ruben Neves against Derby April 11th, 2018.

Best Wolves goal I ever saw (no video) was Dave Wagstaffe’s goal against Chelsea December 13th, 1969 (Wolves won 3-0).

Best live goal I'd seen before today was Kennedy away at Stockport in the choke season, that beat that. My only disappointment is I was in the North Bank

Sebs goal was the best I could recall in relatively recent years. I remember going absolutely mental for Henry's goal in that game too.

However tonight after that goal I can't recall ever seeing anything better, I stood on the South Bank for at least 15 minutes afterwards still shaking my head over it. Epic!

Best Wolves goal I've ever seen. SEBs goal against Charlton and Alex Rae against Bolton were special but tonight's WOWWWWW

Waggy’s was a blinder and further out at the corner of the box iirc - but didn’t have the ‘up and down’ component of Ruben’s??

Not that it's necessarily better than Ruben's yesterday, or even his own against Charlton, but SEB had a bicycle against Millwall (I think) during the Solbakken/Saunders season that I never see mentioned.

I'm sure Sako (remember him? He wasn't as good as Boukari) also had one or two that would be in this conversation. He had one against Sheffield United in League One that I remember very well. One of those that you catch low and it just never stops rising.

If Zlatan (in his prime), Ronaldo or Messi had scored that goal, commetators would simply say, "And that's why he's the best in the world." No-one would argue

Agree - it wasn’t a volley. It started with him on the left wing cutting in and beating 2-3 players and then he let rip from 30 yards.

And of course Chelsea’s goalkeeper was Peter Bonetti who was probably the 2nd best keeper in the league (behind Banks) despite the flack he has always coped for the 1970 WC quarter-final loss to West Germany.

Remember that, brilliant goal. 6 months before Ruben was born!

Sad that 2 players from that game (Richards and Wilkins) are no longer with us

And MacDonald died in 2012.
