I think looking for reason in anything we do is foolish. We probably haven't spoken to him.He must be keen. No need for this otherwise.

First the points, then the pints (of wine)?First the points, then the pies.
I’d sooner see Carrick than Edwards. Sterling career at the top level that should gain respect from players.
Edwards was a chumpionship journeyman of a player with a not too dissimilar trajectory of a managerial career. If he jumps ship again only to fail, which he is likely to do here, he’ll bollocks up his career as folk employing him will think he’ll leave them at the first sign of success.
Don’t do it Rob.
I don't think we'll get anyone better than Edwards. The fact that we’ve gone public with the approach would probably mean he’s given an indication that he’s keen. Hopefully Boro will stick to their guns like they did with their midfielder in the transfer window.
Middlesbrough "refusing" is nothing more than window dressing.I would think the next step will be for Edwards to resign if Boro continue to refuse

With a normal club, I'd agree. We won't have made the offer without knowing he wants the job, it's all just about compensation now
You joke but the last time Rob Edwards managed us didn’t he use Doc as an inverted full back… alongside Cameron Borthwick-JacksonIs that...Matt Doherty? In the Premier League? In nearly 2026?

Teixeira, Coady and Edwards in midfield.. with Saiss on the bench! He did.
And Joao Teixeira in central midfield, which is a role that Fer "the wallflower" Lopez could reprise.
