UEFA Nations League & Euro 2020 Qualification

Second goal from Portugal comes from a fantastic pass from Neves. My roomie was like "omg what a pass!" to which I replied, wearing my Wolves top, "I'm a Wolves fan. To me this is business as usual"

I LOVE that story!

Really hope we can win tomorrow and play the final this weekend.

Assuming you’ve seen the footage on Twitter then you’ll know why England fans are been slagged off. I’m guessing you’ll slag them off too if you look, unless you approve?

I have seen it and have friends an out there.
I should have been there today but for a few issues I would have been there.

The reports are everything was good until the police steamed in with Pepper spray.

Having been with England fans abroad there is always 2 sides to the story.

Having seen England, Scotland, and Ireland abroad there is no difference other than the police wanting a dust up with England Fans

Rui might have saved the pen but otherwise had a good game. Big save early on from Shaqiri and was calm throughout, did everything he had to do. Ruben was sublime. If some joker hadn't knocked a hat trick in to take all the glory he'd have been a good shout for Man of the Match...

Delusional victimhood

Well said :)

It's just lies that all the lovely amazing England fans are being attacked by those nasty policemen. In every country they ever go to. Nothing else.
And it's boring now, so let's discuss games rather than any of that nonsense.

And if my response in saying that pisses you off Glasgo, then drop your PM to the nice ENGLISH admins rather than the Welsh mod who has frankly had a gut full of the fact that the only time you say hello is to come out with the same fucking shit every fucking time.

Heskey and some other muppet insisting it was a penalty.

Never a penalty in a million years. Awful decision.

Yep the attitude of all foreign police are corrupt and heavy handed is utter bollocks, trust me if behaved like that in an English city expect the police to step in in a similar manner.
99% of England fans cringe at this behaviour but we’re constantly let down by this idiotic behaviour.

It’s no coincidence when England play further away ie Japan, South Africa, Brazil and Russia you get zero trouble because the fans travelling are England regulars. Soon as it’s on the continent trouble starts Germany, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands and France. Groups of lads treating it like a stag do and “fuck everyone else as long as I have a good time attitude” sing offensive songs through the odd bottle then claim the victim card when the police wade in.

It's this sort of shit that just embarrasses me and why other nations think we are a bunch of dicks. Is anybody doing anything illegal? No.Is it oafish and pathetic? Yes.

Find that song abhorrent and so archaic.
Radical solutions to this no tickets to England fans or away games or limited to 500-1000, and only way of getting into the ground is with official travel.
Obviously black market tickets are a problem and you’ll always get people travelling for the so called laugh anyway. Football banning orders have eradicated the organised hooligans but now your left with stag do attitude.

I'm not sure the tickets piece makes a difference because as you say it's lads on the piss and in accessible European countries and budget airline prices they are always going to go over and 'enjoy' themselves. There is something in the English psyche that see us as superior to everyone else and going abroad and acting like this is the pitiful way in which we express that.

Combined with limitless alcohol on offer, at the very least if you separated those attending the game officially to those on a jolly it gives the genuine fans a chance without being tarnished by this shite.
Worst thing is some of these knob heads will be out there until Sunday night.
By all accounts police have let the trouble disperse as opposed to wading in, seems like the Portuguese police have done a good job.

Going back to the game.
I was watching with foreign commentary, couldn't understand a word, and was convinced the penalty was for handball. The defender tried to head the ball, missed it, and it hit his trailing arm. Or do I need glasses?

To add my comments to the fray now, I’m here in Porto - went to the game tonight, what an incredible atmosphere, loved every second of it, loved seeing Ruben out there. But yeah, the majority of English fans out here are a total embarrassment, just seems as if it’s a massive stag for 1000’s of people.

and once the goal was scored, neither commentator mentioned the sublime pass from Neves that helped set it up !!! Fucking Sky !!
