Trump

How come trump isn't getting hammered for what he's done? Nothing in the media seems to be negative.

Thanks. We were looking into selling on Amazon US and having hundreds of copies of our game at FBA Centres and possible distributors to ship to Board Game Shops in the US. We'll probably just wait and see what happens and focus on the UK and maybe European translation for the foreseeable future. Maybe go to the Winchester until this all blows over...

It's factual.

@Alan some of the Hands Off protests have looked pretty huge, any ideas what the numbers of people protesting across the US have been? The momentum from them has to be carried forward and built. The protests seem like a good start.

Surely it's where the protests are that matter? I was in Philly the night before the election when Harris had an estimated 2m people at her final rally. In a vacuum you'd have thought she was about to sweep to victory, 24 hrs later she was destroyed. Sizeable protests in red States /cities would be an eye opener, whilst they are in the obvious areas nothing will change.

I am all for protestsing, but most of things Trump is doing was in his manifesto, which means he mostly has a mandate for what he is doing.

Can’t add much, but a town in NC called Sylva, which is in a pocket that is known for Klan activity (not racial violence so much as carrying on the “tradition” of that brand of racism) had a protest as part of it, which is… well, let’s just say Sylva would have been the last place I’d expect to see on that list.

He did not run on stripping legal residents of their rights, nor on ignoring legally binding orders from judges, nor on allowing moronic children to be left wholly unaccountable for the most embarrassing intelligence fiasco in modern US history.

Don’t validate this bullshit.

From the article below.

During the 2024 election campaign, Trump’s rhetoric intensified, focusing even more aggressively on immigration, with promises of “mass deportation,” impenetrable borders, and extreme restrictions on asylum access. As a candidate, Trump vowed to initiate “the largest domestic deportation operation in American history,” targeting not only undocumented immigrants but also, potentially, individuals currently protected under programs such as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), Temporary Protected Status (TPS), Deferred Enforced Departure (DED), and humanitarian parole programs established during the Biden administration. These proposed actions represent an unprecedented escalation of immigration enforcement and new restrictions, and the new administration could implement them swiftly through executive orders and administrative actions.

Trump’s second-term immigration agenda builds upon his first term’s foundation but seeks to intensify those efforts by expanding deportation operations, reviving controversial policies such as Title 42 and the Migrant Protection Protocols, and using military resources to assist with border enforcement and deportation processes. His administration also has signaled its intention to dismantle legal pathways the Biden administration created that allowed more than 1.3 million migrants to enter the U.S. legally. The scope and scale of these proposed actions are becoming increasingly apparent as Trump’s transition team outlines strategies for detention and deportation.

As Trump’s cabinet appointments take shape, it is evident that the administration will pursue rapid, high-impact actions designed to reshape U.S. immigration policy and redefine the nation’s approach to newcomers. Although it is impossible to predict precisely which actions it will prioritize and/or seek to implement in the early days of his second term, Trump’s desire to deliver on immigration campaign promises and his advisors’ detailed planning indicates a flurry of activity on the issue beginning on January 20, 2025. In this context, this memo outlines the potential steps a second Trump administration could take on immigration during its first 100 days in office.

The media in my experience usually downplay the numbers involved but if those are accurate half a million across the US is OK, but the protests need to grow to have an impact.

If they get the kind of numbers you hope for, what kind of impact do you think that will have?

I disagree somewhat. Because it's a fact that protests can gather momentum. And the larger the numbers are anywhere, the more that momentum grows, the more people who might have been afraid of protesting gain confidence that they aren't on their own and then the protests spread. The protests in isolation in the big east and west coast cities won't shift the needle, but if they continue and get larger they will.
