Trump

To beat the 'right wing polemic' there needs to be a plan and vision that appeals to the average voter, and also to the 'working class' that gets name-checked so often, but rarely actually considered seriously.

What plan and vision is there that can't be easily dismissed as 'woke'/commie/'radical left', and that isn't full of 19th century definitions or alienating lecturing, or predominately about fringe issues? Or that isn't just defined based on what it is against, rather than what it is for?

Genuinely would love to see one come into view sooner rather than later.
None. Dems have played this game since Clinton, maybe sooner. It doesn't work. As the saying goes, "respectability politics will not save you".

Any plan of substance will be labeled as "woke" or "commie" or "radical". Anything that openly asserts to undercut the current conservative episteme will be called those for as long as it sways opinion.

Anyone who shivers at Marxist jargon isn't ready for the changes necessary, anyway.

It's not massively different to over here and Starmer. Being less bad, is a step in the right direction

🤣 Apologies, my bad.

If I'm tetchy it's cos the world is a fucking shitshow and it depresses me no end. I need to have hope that people can make a change. The right wing polemic can not win. It just can't.
Mate you don't want to be getting depressed about that shit, there lies madness. All you can do is your best to affect what happens in the future.

Are they less bad though? I mean corruption wise, yes. Probably.

But fucking austerity, again.

Going for the vulnerable, again, after how much richer the rich have got since covid?

It is totally arse end up, I don't understand how it's so difficult to sell that very obvious reality to the 99% of people that the 1% are fucking them hard every single day.

I used to think getting Michelle Obama interested might be the answer but I’m not sure that would work now.

The "less bad"of the what were once centre-left Parties is why the radical right are in power in the US and why Reform are so popular.

They know the system is broken, they are telling the squeezed working and middle class (US) the system is broken. Their "why" is a lie however, but that doesn't matter. They have convinced people their lives will improve, and the only answer the once centre-left have is "your suffering is unavoidable".

I'd rather have the centre of Labour or SPD than a Tory of CDU/CSU 10 times out of 10, but there's not a lot of hope in that.

Not as corrupt, don't engage in culture wars, are politically competent, respected on the world stage. There's a huge difference. That's not endorsing policies, I've made my thoughts clear on many of those, but let's not pretend there's not a gulf between Starmer and the Johnson and what followed Tories, because there is.

Politically competent? Not sure what shit show you’re watching but politically competent is not a description I would use in connection with this government

This is also interesting. Patrimonialism is a new one to me, and I am not a stupid person. Despite the impression I often give.

Sociology klaxon sounded!!!

Sunday…

“Denmark, which controls Greenland, its not doing its job and its not being a good ally. So you have to ask yourself:‘How are we going to solve that problem, solve our national security?’” Vance told Fox on Sunday.

“If that means that we need to take more territorial interest in Greenland, that is what President Trump is going to do, because he doesn’t care about what the Europeans scream at us, he cares about putting the interests of America’s citizens first,”

Today….

“I’m going to visit some of our guardians in the space force on the north-west coast of Greenland, and also just check out what’s going on with the security there of Greenland.”

What a tosser.
