Traore the enigma

I thought Donk did ok - kept it simple but effective. A decent if unspectacular debut, against a good side.

Made his league debut against Chelsea and was good then too. I'd agree with you that he was solid. His work rate and angles off the ball were very good.

He played about six minutes against Chelsea didn’t he, and touched the ball twice? Good full debut yesterday then :)

His first touch against Chelsea was very positive. A good run out of defensive midfield shielded the ball well and won a good relieving free kick.

He was good without doing anything spectacular. Maybe he's just a large guy but he seemed to have a bit of a gut. Not that it matters, really, plenty of guys hold a bit of fat in that area even if they're in great shape.

Thought he hid a bit at times but maybe it's just getting used to where to be at all times to receive the ball etc. And can't see everything on TV

Might be a co-incidence but heard a piece a couple of weeks ago about United not being happy with Lakaku condition when he came back from the WC, how he had bulked up in his time with Belgium and that affected his fitness when he came back.

Thats what happens when most of the population live on fruit beer, chips with mayonnaise and chocolate

Confused about how the Traore thread has ended up on Dendoncker but I thought he looked pretty anonymous at Wembley, in fact I felt he was the worst player on the pitch for us.

He looks a little one paced. His lungbusting run to support Jiminez for our first goal wasn't exactly lightning

What an odd thing to pick up on. He's clearly the quickest of our central midfielders.

I like him, I think he did a great job, it's just the impression I got against Liverpool.

He is like a deluxe Jack Price (without the sexy beard).
He gets the ball and recycles it. Didn't see him misplace too many on Monday

I think that's very harsh Darlo. I think he's more mobile than Price, runs with the ball well and has a decent range of passing. I think he's better than Saiss.

I thought Donck acquitted himself quite well but he looked strangely out of shape to me (in terms of looks only, not workrate or speed).

I was praising him... I LOVED Jack Price and what he brought to the team.

He is still working his way into how we play and yes, I agree, he's an upgrade on Saiss but I'd like to see him develop his passing range as it's all "neat, short passes" at the moment. I'm sure it will come and I'm glad I've found a player that Aiki and I have a different opinion on. It was getting boring on the train down with us all agreeing how wonderful our players are :icon_wink:

He has an odd looking physique which makes him look awkward.
